I ordered everything on line. Everything in the order was as ordered. I walked in at the time I said I’d pick up my order, and everything was ready. We all loved our dinners! We ordered a chicken kabob wrap, chicken kabob plate, falafel plate...and Greek salad with grilled chicken. You get to choose 3 dressings (hummus, tahini, etc), which is always in separate containers. Everyone said everything was more than plentiful and delicious.More
I stopped in here for dinner on a Saturday evening while visiting Providence. It was around 6:30pm and parking in the area was really hard to find. We ended up parking a few streets over and walked over. The place was very busy but they...went through the line quickly. I got the gyro and chicken wrap with all the toppings and it was very good. The amount of meat I got for the price was impressive and it was all well cooked and seasoned. There is some seating inside but it seems that most take their food to go. I'd definitely recommend trying out this place.More
You can always identify a worth while food place by the line it keeps; and East Side Pockets almost always has a line of people waiting to purchase an authentic tastey morsel of mmm goodness.
There may be a line but, it tends to...move quickly. One person takes the order, another person prepares the order, while someone else is cooking whatever you ordered of the carnivorous varity; then your completed delight is handed off to the cashier. You can eat-in or take-it-away. As you can read, they are a well oiled make-it-your-way efficient food service machine.
If you are like me, I love a good combination of the falafel and the gyro wrap with the works (everything on it), and extra tahini sauce. Ooh, it is always so good! Now all you have to do is sit down and fix your lips for a taste of authentic Mediterranean flavor. The size of the wrap is very generous, so make sure to leave room to try a sweet taste of honey laden filo filled nutty deliciousness to finalize your taste buds trip abroad.
The size of the warp is very generous
Cozy, cozy, cozy. I have never eaten inside, I have always taken my goodness away because it can be difficult to find an empty seat.
Ther is no such thing as bad at East Side Pockets; "It is all good!"More
On my brief afternoon in Providence went by this restaurant for a quick lunch. Line moved quickly and staff seemed happy and friendly. As opposed to many gyros which have a bit of lettuce and tomato and lots of meat - this has several other...components like peppers and pickles which really added to flavor our gyro. One of the best I’ve ever had. Great sauce. Disappointed with baba ghanoush which tasted a bit too roasted almost burnt. But overall quite good experienceMore
My friend, who was with us said he was there when East Side Pocket opened in the '90s, recommended we visit East Side Pocket when visiting Providence. So glad we did. Four of us visited the restaurant. There was a line when we arrived, but...it moved quickly. They have there system down to a science. I had a gyro which was outstanding. Tasty, fully loaded and delicious. When this same friend told them another one of us had never eaten falafel, they gave us three free. They also gave us four rolled baklava free. I am not typically a fan of baklava, but these were not too sweet, too gooey, tasty and easy to eat. Excellent food and service. Highly recommend!!More
