We enjoyed a splendid supper at Los Andes. The food was exceptionally good and the service was extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient. Cannot recommend Los Andes highly enough.
Is extraordinarily popular restaurant it's very much worth a visit. Be sure to make reservations because it was jammed on the weeknight we went, and there was quite a queue waiting for best available. But we were seated immediately. We were early, so we bellied...up to the bar. It's crammed and a little claustrophobic, but the positive vibe put out by the bartenders, made up for any squishing. Once at our table, service was immediate and friendly. The space itself is a wonder with an open courtyard replete with footbridge and igloos. The building is nestled into primarily residential housing so it's a bit of a Brigadoon in an otherwise so so neighborhood. Food is good, portions large. I enjoyed my ceviche. We skipped dessert but saw some go by our table and they looked pretty impressive. thoroughly enjoyed and will be back again.More
My favorite place to eat on the hill Great food at an affordable price. Great atmosphere & great customer service. Will be going back to enjoy outside dining in the summer.
It was our first time at Los Andes and it was everything we had heard it was and far more. Not knowing were we going to park, the free valet set-up is perfect. Upon entering the restaurant the hostess was very pleasant and took us...right to our pre-selected, secluded table. The waiter was very attentive and prompt with everything we asked and/or ordered. The food choices we made were spectacular in their presentation and taste. I highly recommend Los Anges! I would also like to say thank you for making my birthday celebration to special.More
Went for dinner, had to wait 45 minutes even though we had a reservation. The manager sent over an appetizer as an apology, which was very nice. The margaritas were good though they were all ice, the appetizer empanadas were good not great. The 8...oz sirloin was like a sandwich steak. I think they gave me the 6 oz not the 8 oz that I had ordered. Had I known that, I would've ordered something else. My husband ordered the Paella, it was woefully mediocre. When we go out to eat and pay $30 plus dollars for a meal, we want to bite into it and say, mmmm this is incredible and delicious. We didn't get that here for our meal. It was just ok. The espresso martini tasted watered down, it wasn't up to par. Honestly, the place looked unclean. The hallway where we waited for our table was not pleasant and the door to the outside where they had igloos set up that waitstaff used was filthy. I know they use their shoes to open the door, but as someone who's worked in restaurants in the past, they could wipe this down between shifts. The visual was not good and made me start looking around. Maybe it's just me, but this dinner was not as good as previous dinners we have had here. Still cost us $180 with a good tip. The waitress was very nice.More
From the minute we walked in it was a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The attention to detail is part of the welcoming experience. They welcome questions about the menu and take the time to check on you to make sure your experience is pleasant....The food is AMAZING! Perfection! We had the special of the week! This was our first visit and will now be our favorite go to.More
We visited Los Andes on the advice of a friend who said it was delicious with outstanding service. We couldn't agree more. Unique outdoor setting with plantings which transported you to So. America instead of the middle of Providence. Patio heaters kept us comfortable. Themed...drinks, delicious appetizers (we had the duck nachos- unique and tasty) and a wide variety of entrees from seafood to steaks. Service was outstanding, friendly and attentive. Made us feel at home and special. Very generous portions- we took home another meal's worth! We were too full to order dessert, so they came out with a platter with anniversary wishes inscribed in chocolate. Highly, highly recommended!More
This time, I took some friends visiting from a southern state for some great South American cuisine. The restaurant was excellent in EVERY detail. From seating us, the overview of the specials as well as willing to answer any question, the staff was outstanding. The...food was even better. I ordered the special Milanesa steak, and it was beyond good words. Not only did I get a deliciously cooked steak with more trimmings that I can taste. But each taste was expertly prepared and presented, and you can taste them all as they blended together very well, with the actual steak, when consumed. As usual, they went above and beyond everything, and they go back with five-star status with me, as I love going a few times per year!!More
We loved everything about it. The outside patio, the service, the unique and creative dishes. Good value, at least for us, because everyone's dinner was huge, and we are getting a second meal out of it.
I was excited to try this place for my 6 year anniversary due to the stellar reviews. It epically failed on so many counts. My husband didn’t even want to eat his dinner. 1) Decor/Service: The place is like a chain. You might as well...be at Cheesecake Factory with a beeper. There are tons and tons and tons of people. The service was horrible. We barely saw her and she never came to the table. A 7 top of people got better service and food before us!! We waited 45 minutes for food! We waited for the check for like 10 minutes!! Forget that we were celebrating an anniversary. 2) Drinks: The drinks were horrible! I got a spicy margarita. It was in a high ball glass and they used bottled lime juice and sour mix. Super gross! 3) Food: The food was equally as horrible. The bread was dollar store bread with cheap oil. The ceviche Nikki looked like cat food. The tuna was gummy and room temperature. It had no flavor and was probably sitting out. The paella can’t even be called a paella. There was no soccarat. It was uncle Ben’s rice with yellow food coloring. It didn’t taste like saffron. Everything was over cooked from the rice to all the proteins. My husband didn’t even finish his meal!! Absolutely horrible! Yelp has failed me and I am going to be more cautious moving forward!More
Given the fantastic experience my husband and I had at Los Andes about 5 years ago, we were looking forward to eating there on a visit to Rhode Island. While the restaurant has undergone a renovation that has created a delightful outdoor space, I wish...they hadn’t tempered with the menu. I recall having uniquely prepared, delicious Peruvian food on the earlier visit, and I couldn’t find any of those items on the current menu. Our calamari and ceviche appetizers were just fine, but our 4 entrees were awful. I don’t know what happened in the kitchen over the past few years, but the food is now poorly prepared, uninteresting and not flavorful. What a disappointment!More
Excellent food and atmosphere, our server, Lexi, was attentive, creative and responsive to our requests. We will be returning very soon!
Since the majority of the reviews highlight the amazing entrees, cocktails, service, and ambiance, I thought I'd write a quick recommendation about their dessert - specifically the tiramisu. In all of the times we've been to Los Andes, we've never ordered dessert because their meal...portions are so big but this time we were determined (anniversary). We shared their tiramisu. Wow - the bottom layer is caramel which really took this dessert up a notch. Definitely worth ordering to share with the table!More
I have to start first by saying for the most part the service was excellent. The woman with the water service was super awesome and our glasses were never empty. Our waitress was extremely friendly. The cocktail service was slow and drinks were very expensive...but well done. A manager checked in with us during the meal which was nice. Overall, the service experience was very good and for that I want to give it five stars but I can't. While being okay the food lacked the flavors that we all would have expected from South American cuisine and the top rated restaurant in the area. The grilled meats were left to their own devices and not very flavorful. Our other dishes were again good but not deep in the flavors that we have experienced. The highlight for me was the arroz con queso. We will definitely return as service is a huge element of a restaurant experience and try other dishes the next time around.More
