You know a place is very good when the locals hang out there, it is a wait for a table (just hope for an open spot at the bar) and you may have to circle a while or park a short distance away to even stay there. We spent the week in Estes Park just down the road on the... More

If you plan on going here I would call ahead. They do not take reservations, but will accept call ahead and add you name to the list. We were not aware and waited over a hour. If you can wait to eat after 7:30-8:00pm you make reduce your wait time. Going at 5:30-6:00pm gets right at the end of the... More

The Estes Park area is awesome for so many reasons, and Rock Inn Mountain Tavern is one of them! We hike in Rocky Mountain National Park every two years or so, and come to the Rock Inn when we're in Estes. It's a little outside of town, and when you get there, it looks like a ton of locals call... More

Our family of two parents and 3 teens had a casual and fun dinner during our first night in Colorado. It was a great setting. Staff was friendly, food was good and we enjoyed the music.

We stumbled in after a long day in the car. Happened upon local music, great fare and a really good waiter. We felt very lucky. The place is colorful but not too much for our nine year old. Now the food- the flat iron steak on top of a warm bowl is excellent. The buffalo burgers were set on top... More

We felt that this was the best restaurant of our trip to Estes Park. It was very much a Colorado experience and the food was very good. I had the trout and polenta and my friend had the meatloaf and we were both pleased. We went on a Tuesday and it was an open mike night which added to the... More

Our pizza tasted great, but it was only lukewarm. The elk sausage was excellent, but we also ordered pepperoni and they forgot to add that. Server quickly took extra charge off our bill. Side salad is lettuce with a tiny bit of grated carrot and red cabbage -- but it was fresh. Decent beer selection.

My wife and I went in for dinner after a day of walking around Estes Park. We went because the reviews made me think it was good. We both thought it was pretty average or below average. I got my steak rare and and it was so tough from gristle that I couldn't even finish it. And we got an... More

Description
Open 7 days a week at 4pm Sunday Mornings we are serving Brunch from 10am to 2pm Built in 1937as a dance hall for the Big Band Era, The Rock continues to be a lively gathering place with local flair. In the winter, our two wood-burning stoves keep the room toasty for folks stopping in for a beer or a bite after playing in Rocky Mountain National Park. During the summer season we enjoy stunning continental divide views from our outdoor dining patio. Our menu is an ever evolving blend of hand-crafted, hearty comfort food with a health and planet conscious twist. We aim to fill you up with goodness so you can get back to enjoying the mountains again tomorrow. We feature Certified Angus Beef, All-Natural Colorado chicken, fresh salads, whole grains, organic teas and coffees, local beers, sustainably produced wines, and a full bar. On Many Fridays after dinner, we set-up one of many original Colorado bands on our 76 year old stage, clear the dance floor and boogie all night. Some of the bands playing these days include Chain Station, James and the Devil, Old Town Pickers, The Sweet Lillies, Stringboard Theory, Cadillac Grip Funk, KC Groves, and many more. During the summer time, acoustic music acts play most other nights of the week, sunday nights are a mellower feeling as we host acoustic Colorado songwriters during dinner. You might catch Jon Pickett, Alex Thoele, Sarah Caton, Jay Roemer, Billy Shaddox, Jay Stott, or Terry Kishiyama and Ash Ganley. We also offer a great open bluegrass pick on Thursday nights lead by a few talented local musicians, either joining in on the pick or just sitting back and enjoying the bluegrass, tuesdays are a funny night of music. We look forward to having you join us. Reservations are not accepted, however if you want to give us a call, when you are on your way we will be happy to get a table ready for you or put you on the list. During the off-season there is rarely a wait. In July, August, and September it is best to get here before 6.
