This is not my type of place but was told it was good. The wait is incredibly long to get a table. Waited over an hour. The place is very popular and parking sucks. More of a bar atmosphere and very very loud. They have live entertainment but you can barely hear them from all the talking. This is a... More

The place isn't much to look at from the outside and the name might give you the impression it's just a bar. But the inside is attractive and has a lodge feel. We enjoyed all of the food we ordered. The Cajun shrimp were large and the polenta was good...it worked out well for our gluten-free family member. The buffalo... More

My husband and I live in Estes Park and went here for dinner. The food is really great, menu prices are like most restaurants in the area, it's a tourist area so a little high. We sat outside and even though it has been warm out, their outside seating was enjoyable with the nice breeze coming from the mountains. I... More

We enjoyed the Rock Inn Mountain Tavern so much, we ate there twice during our stay. A good menu with good variet. We especially enjoyed the chips with corn queso, as well as the fench dip with basil ajou. The service was tremendous, showing the place is well managed. The wait staff was very friendly and conversational, and we never... More

We went around 5pm on a Friday night; only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. We went all in for dinner -- cocktails (not too strong), tasty and generous-portion wings for appetizer, trout and burger for entrees, brownie sundae for dessert. Nothing was fancy but everything was delicious and well-prepared, including the side dishes. And the service... More

The food was great! The figs wrapped in bacon stuffed with garlic were great! The service was good! Great restaurant! Should definitely try if you are visiting! Especially if you are staying next door at the Elk Meadow lodge and RV park!

Staff is very nice. Our GP had us in the middle of Lake Estes. We got lost on the way and called and the hostess was very helpful with directions from where we were to get on the right track. We were seated quickly because we had called ahead to say we wanted a table for 2. Our dinner was... More

Open 7 days a week at 4pm Sunday Mornings we are serving Brunch from 10am to 2pm Built in 1937as a dance hall for the Big Band Era, The Rock continues to be a lively gathering place with local flair. In the winter, our two wood-burning stoves keep the room toasty for folks stopping in for a beer or a bite after playing in Rocky Mountain National Park. During the summer season we enjoy stunning continental divide views from our outdoor dining patio. Our menu is an ever evolving blend of hand-crafted, hearty comfort food with a health and planet conscious twist. We aim to fill you up with goodness so you can get back to enjoying the mountains again tomorrow. We feature Certified Angus Beef, All-Natural Colorado chicken, fresh salads, whole grains, organic teas and coffees, local beers, sustainably produced wines, and a full bar. On Many Fridays after dinner, we set-up one of many original Colorado bands on our 76 year old stage, clear the dance floor and boogie all night. Some of the bands playing these days include Chain Station, James and the Devil, Old Town Pickers, The Sweet Lillies, Stringboard Theory, Cadillac Grip Funk, KC Groves, and many more. During the summer time, acoustic music acts play most other nights of the week, sunday nights are a mellower feeling as we host acoustic Colorado songwriters during dinner. You might catch Jon Pickett, Alex Thoele, Sarah Caton, Jay Roemer, Billy Shaddox, Jay Stott, or Terry Kishiyama and Ash Ganley. We also offer a great open bluegrass pick on Thursday nights lead by a few talented local musicians, either joining in on the pick or just sitting back and enjoying the bluegrass, tuesdays are a funny night of music. We look forward to having you join us. Reservations are not accepted, however if you want to give us a call, when you are on your way we will be happy to get a table ready for you or put you on the list. During the off-season there is rarely a wait. In July, August, and September it is best to get here before 6.
