Find this bar& grill upstairs overlooking fuel storage tanks at the port just off Highway 250. Location is not everything. This cheerful, unassuming bar & grill punches well above its weight when it comes to food. Though my fresh caught grilled fish & asparagus was seriously good, my partner's ginger garlic clams had us caught up in greed. The only... More

While touring the Big Island by car on our way to the Pololu Valley, we stopped in Kawihae for some lunch on a very hot afternoon. The Seafood Bar & Grill looked promising from the outside and, upon entry, we were encouraged! The menu offers a variety of items at fairly reasonable prices: sandwiches, burgers, salads, steaks, fresh poke, appetizers,... More

This stop came highly recommended by the locals. The Poke Burger is a must-try! Don't let the location scare you away. Right across from an industrial harbor, the view is nothing special. But the food and drinks were great!

Had to return to the mainland, so before we went to the airport, we drove to this small town north of the airport to have dinner. The "lite" menu was available all day, so we chose the fresh fish sandwich, served with fries. Would have preferred a substitute for the fries, but the fee was more than we wanted to... More

I have passed this place for the last 18 years I've been coming to the Big Island. Always on my way somewhere else. We stopped for, lunch yesterday and it was awesome. I had the fresh fish sandwich and my husband had the ahi poke burger. They were delicious and served with perfectly cooked fries. Our friends who are locals had... More

This is a very cozy place off the beaten path but worth a visit. If you are staying at one of the Kohala Coast resorts it is a fun place to escape to. The authentic tiki style, the food and drinks, the authentic island desserts and the service are top notch. It isn't stuffy or snobby or high end it... More

This place is definitely among my faves for a good happy hour and the mai tais are really good! The appetizers they serve range from some typical american dishes as well as some things that have local fish and sea food.

The place is directly across from what looks like several oil tanks at a refinery. Really couldn't be a worse location but we said the food must be good to last there. No so much. My opah was just ok and the $34 special price was not disclosed until the bill arrived. Wife ordered the pupu steak for $17 and... More

Great seafood and a reasonable price for a resort setting. Really fresh fish dishes done in a unique style. Happy hour drinks are a must. We ate there twice and were not dissappointed either time. The food is flat amazing and the view of the fuel storage tanks and container storage is to.

We stopped here for a meal before returning to our resort. We were a little hesitant, because they had a game on the TVs and a crowd watching, but it turned out OK because they had a table on the balcony open for us. I had fried rice, and my spouse had some kind of salad, and both were of good... More
