The fish was so bad it tasted like a poop sandwitch and made me puke. The employess were really mean and locked the doors to the bathroom and i could not go. Also, they made the fish in a bowl not a plate like omg...this place sucks. Dont EVER GOOOOOOOOO . If you go you will die dun dun dunnnnnnnn!More

Terrible everything! People were rude, yelled at me when I walked in behind my husband and told me to wait outside. I understand the whole mask thing, but they could have spoke nicely. Furthermore, my husband wouldn't start ordering without me, dah. We ordered several...items and they were ok, nothing to rave about, better off buying some fresh fish and slapping shoyu on it. Standing in line, outside in the hot sun was not worth the service treatment or the food.More

We rented a VRBO house nearby ... so we were here ALOT! The Poke is as advertised - very good. Plus we ordered fish to grill at least three of the nights - MahiMahi and Swordfish. Super fresh and so good. My favorite part of...this place is the service - everyone working behind the counter was so nice. Great service plus great product = happy place :)More

This is no longer the facility shown in the photos. It has moved across the street into a 7-11 type market. The menu is quite limited. My husband enjoyed his poke bowl. I wasn’t thrilled with my fish burger and chips, but the cucumber salad...was good. There’s no place to sit and eat, so we drove a few minutes to a nearby park/beach. We won’t go back.More

We visited twice; the first time they had very little left; they were waiting for the fishermen to deliver more. The second time there was lots to choose from. Everything was very fresh and their prepared poke and salads were excellent.

This is a small operation in an industrial part of town, but offers very tasty meals at reasonable prices. The fish and seaweed salad were very flavorful!

Very Hawaii stile. 2 at a time aloud inside, very fresh fish. Had the ono and went outside to parking lot plastic tables and chairs. Fish was awesome.

We tried this place years ago and were very satisfied. We went back this month but the items were not as good as before. First of all, they were out of Poke Bombs when we were there (a typical event as mentioned on some reviews...here). The cooked fish we had, tasted like it was a day old. There was a big line due to '2-people only' policy, and one of the server ladies had an attitude. She was yelling at the people in front of us for being so close to the door as they were the next ones to be served. I hope she was just frazzled due to the big line, and it was not her normal self. To conclude, our meal was nothing special. Their seaweed salad was good though.More

...that's the life. We stayed at the Fairmont Orchid while on Hawaii Island this summer, and Da Fish House became our go-to lunch spot. Super fresh fish, generous portions. reasonably priced. It does get busy and because of Covid, it's only 2 people in at...a time, so be prepared to wait if you see a line out the dorr. But oh is it worth it! Our favorites were the Wasabi, Sunrise, Garlic Scallops and Poke Bombs (which often run out). Not much space to sit and eat, but drive a few minutes to Spencer Beach Park and dine like a king beside the ocean under the shade of magnificent trees.More

Grabbed a nice tuna steak for grilling at home. Also picked up some of the wasabi pistachio poke - very good. Helpful and friendly staff. Tuna steak was so fresh and tender. Quickly marinated and seared about 1.5 mins a side. Perfect. Poke was also...super fresh and unique that we hadn't seen elsewhere.More

I run into the first day of the Ono season and bought the freshest most beautiful Ono filet. They also have Ahi and other fish types, all super fresh. If you want to buy ready-to-eat, the Poke were fresh and generous in portion. Such a...good deal! Highly recommended!More

The Hawaiian Name of this place is “Hale I a” which means Fish House. After trying several Poke places, this is the best one, at least on the West Coast of Big Island. We ordered one poke plate and cooked fish and seafood plate. Both...portions are generous, fresh and tasty. Prices are affordable. Fresh fish were being delivered while we were there. The two ladies were very friendly explaining what the options are.More
