My family and I refueled at the tavern while visiting the Marine Corps Museum. We ordered contactless and the wait was reasonable. We all ordered something different and were pleased with our meals. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad, and my husband ordered the Rueben sandwich. We did not care for the chips, but the fries were very good. We did feel disconnected from the servers due to the contactless environment; made it feel more like fast food, which we didn’t care for.

This is an excellent place to take youngsters as well as older relatives and enjoy learning about the many ways the Marines have served our country! There is so much to see from live demonstrations from aircraft to exhibits that help you learn more about all of the ways that the Marines have been helping our country now & historically! There’s even a quaint, cozy tavern or pub on site with a nice variety of casual meals, and the youngsters did fine in there, too, so we are good service and good food, and an excellent time that even the little lost ones found things that they enjoyed!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch with our two lovely granddaughters at this spotless restaurant. Our server, Trish, and her team provided EXCELLENT and attentive service. The tater tot and cheese appetizer, rueben sandwich, BLT wrap, and fish and chips were scrumptious. We highly recommended dining at this fine restaurant on your next visit to the Museum of the Martine Corps. By the way, entrance to the museum is free!

The original Tun Tavern was in Philadelphia and is reportedly to be the location where the Marine Corps began. This Tun Tavern replica is in the Marine Corps Museum in Stafford. We had to put our name in for about an hour long wait to be seated. The Tavern itself is rather small. We were seated at a wooden table, there were 6 of us. The menu is limited and has burgers, fries, fish and chips and other pub style food, and beer on tap. We enjoyed our burgers, and the other food that was ordered. Our server was busy but kept checking on us. It’s a nice lunch stop while touring the museum.

Out to the National Museum of the USMC and time got away from us - it was time to eat. With still much to see and take in, we quickly decided to grab something onsite. How could you turn down an eatery named after the birthplace of the USMC? It’s still a restaurant in a museum though, so our hopes weren’t too high - we were wrong! It’s a small place with great service. The waitress knew her menu and made some great recommendations. The food was reasonable and excellent quality. I went with the steak, which was cooked to order and I didn’t have to mortgage the house afterwards. This was followed with a local brew, again, an excellent recommendation. Overall, I would come here again even if this place wasn’t in one of the best museums I have seen.

Nice little cafe / tavern, pretty good but not great food, good service, nice place to sit and chat for a while. Definitely convenient for museum visitors, and a cut or two above the usual museum fare. My crab cake was nothing special, but my lunch companion liked his Reuben. I'll try that next time.

If you are south of the Washington DC area, this is worth stopping for. The presentations were extremely well done, and the Docents were very knowledgeable.

This place has some of the friendliest staff. The place was packed and we had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated. The seating is not comfortable at all. The food was ok. They serve beer!

This is a small tavern upstairs at the Marine Museum. It's very dark and quaint like an old tavern. We had very good food here and great Ice tea! I would recommend having lunch here if you have time.

Somewhat limited menu but don't let that fool you. We ate very well and the service was great. It is sit-down dining and the food was quite good. Bit pricey but worth it.

Excellent service and a tasty order of fish and chips at this replica of the original Tun Tavern made our visit to the Museum of the USMC even more enjoyable. Rebecca and Melly deserve recognition.
