We had breakfast here 3 mornings in a row because we liked the pancakes so much. There was a little confusion one morning as we hadn't realized that they normally served them with powdered sugar on top (not my preference), but they were quite agreeable about making a new batch. Service was fast, the place was clean, and the atmosphere... More

Stopped by late night for dessert. It was hard to decide on an item from their bakery case! Finally chose rhubarb pie ala mode and carrot cake washed down with a pot of chamomile tea. Tasted home-made. Hit the spot!

From breakfast to lunch to dinner this place can take care of you. Really impressed, though I am not one, with the vegetarian menu. The burgers were outstanding. The breakfasts were amazing. Their staff is terrific. Happy, friendly, courteous, and efficient. It was a good stopping point for our day out. Really an excellent place for food on Central Avenue.

All of the flying Star restaurants are great, this one included. Quirky but tasty food, good drinks, excellent counter service, and amazing deserts.

When I am in Albuquerque I always try to stop here for a breakfast burrito at least once. The place is nothing fancy, it's near the university and in the Nob Hill neighborhood. The breakfast burrito is classic New Mexico at its best. I highly recommend it!

Had a great meal at Flying Star on Central, right in the heart of the Route 66 area of town. The french toast with strawberries and bananas was exceptional, and all of the food was really good. Make sure to get some pie for dessert as well!

Description
We created Flying Star because we needed fresh, tasty coffee served in a bottomless cup, comfy seats with casual, competent service that didn’t get in your face. Most of all, we wanted a place where dessert was first and the food was something you could really get your taste buds around. And, we needed it served from early in the morning to late at night on every day of the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas. It would be a place where we could go to be alone or have a good chance of running into friends. That was 1987 and we’re still cooking and baking 24 years later.
