A wonderful family dinner to celebrate winter holidays with visiting family. Nice variety with beer or wine in the evening. 9 people for $120!

Unique experience to find a friendly good restaurant with excellent red chili tucked away in a pharmacy. The wait staff all worked together to provide great service to go with the delicious food. We're visiting but if we lived in Albuquerque we be back often.

The food here is good quality, served by a friendly and efficient staff. I love the chili (Red & Green) here, and the food is genuine New Mexican. The strange thing is, they don't do hash browns with breakfast, they do mashed potatoes..... If your is the area give it a try, you'll enjoy the experience. Beware of the traffic... More

This place is always busy, so just be prepared. It's worth the wait though! The food is great and chile is hot. If you need a fix, you can just get a bowl of chile with beans and a tortilla on the side. Otherwise, the torpedo is great loaded with potatoes and chile. One of the best things about Duran's... Well, it's overpriced, and always busy, but the wait staff is good, and always friendly. Much better than Garcia's across the street!

All virgin experiences are interesting but not necessarily enjoyable. Visiting Durans for the first time is both interesting and enjoyable. Interesting because you must walk through a pharmacy to get to the restaurant and it's always full. Enjoyable because it's got the best red chile in town; predictably delicious food and a wait staff that reminds me of a New... More

I used to live in Albuquerque and returned for a family visit. Duran's is a favorite spot of theirs so we went to lunch on my second day. There was one table left when we arrived so we had good timing. The staff was running around chaotically the entire time we were there. It took 5 minutes of people rushing... More

My wife and I have lived in New Mexico for over 25 years and had never tried Duran's Pharmacy. We have been missing some great food! Tiny place but worth any wait you have. The hands down best Carne Adovada I have ever eaten (pork marinated in red chilli). Fresh made hand rolled tortillas, and great friendly service.

Fun diner lunch, but the gift items in the store are the best. Lots of Archie McPhee stuff. We picked up the Dress-Up Crazy Cat Lady to plan our retirement! Albuquerque is a quirky fun city - was very pleased by how much I liked it.

I went at lunch. Place was very busy, sat at the counter so no problems getting in at all. The menu is true New Mexican food. I had a hard time deciding so I got the blue corn chicken tacos! Wonderful!!! The guacamole is good, and I'm very picky. Sitting at the counter was good, I talked with several different... More

Description
In business since 1942, Duran Central Pharmacy is one of the oldest commercial establishments in Albuquerque. The pharmacy has grown considerably over the years, reflecting changes in the health and medical fields. The original soda fountain has grown into a small restaurant, serving New Mexican food and is famous in the area for its red and green chile. Duran's offers a wide variety of products from all over the world - from medicinal herbs to imported chocolates and fancy soaps to trendy gadgets. In addition, there is no better place for a genuine New Mexican enchilada or green chile cheeseburger!
