Fresh rolls are easily distinguished from similar rolls by the fact that they are not fried and that the ingredients used are different from (deep-fried) Vietnamese egg rolls. Fresh rolls have gradually become more popular in Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos as well as in Canada and the US or wherever there are a significant number of Vietnamese people. Its popularity is also partly due to several websites promoting Vietnamese food by Western travelers/South East Asia food experts and by word of mouth.
The version served here is stuffed with fresh veggies and herbs and beef strips, nor the usual pork or shrimp and serve with an authentic fish sauce dip than the regular peanut with Hoi Sin sauce version. This drew raves from from my hubby, who thinks that they are more tasty. The Grilled Catfish with a similar fish sauce dip with grilled vegetables and a Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables in oyster sauce complete our meal. Don't be fooled by the exterior, the food is freshly prepared and cooked when you order, the interior is really nice, and the prices are great!More
