NOTE: This is a cafeteria. You walk up, order your food and then you have to watch a light board for your number. When your number lights up, you get your food at the other end of the service line. We were a bit perplexed by the layout at Frontier because most articles fail to mention the above. As a... More

Mr and my husband go eat everyday when we take road trips to albuquerque. We bring a pack of tortillas, they are the softest!

I was introduced to this place over a decade ago and have come back to visit any time I'm in Albuquerque. The food is cheap and plentiful. Their green chile is amazing! I usually go for a green chile smothered burrito called the Frontier Burrito. The tortillas are great as well. Also, this place is open late usually!

No matter what you're in the mood for or how hungry you are you can always get something great here. Just don't forget to watch your number on the number board

We moved from ABQ to Europe a few years ago, and one of the things we miss the most is Sunday breakfast at the Frontier. We return for a visit every 1-2 years, and ALWAYS make a point of stopping to eat here at least 1-2 x: each time we order fresh squeezed orange juice and home made tortillas, breakfast... More

Mentioned in a few of Tony Hillerman's books. Great New Mexican food. The tortillas made in house are the best in town. As an added extra, the people inside are a microcosm of Albuquerque. And don't forget the artery clogging sweet rolls drenched in butter.

Have not been there for a while. T he food is still very good, with great prices. The show is just watching the different people that come into this place. Right across from UNM you get the college crowd and everyone else.

One thing Albuquerque lacks is many food options past 10/11 pm. I thought I would be relegated to fast food, but then my eyes fell upon the Frontier. Located on Central ave across from UNM, it is a quintessential college dive with plenty of seating and quick talking counter staff. They were extremely friendly and I had enchiladas. Ok for... More

Based on all the reviews, we decided we had to try the Frontier Restaurant. It lived up to all the reviews! We all ordered a variety from the menu and all I can say is everything was really good. Just go with your taste and mood and you can't go wrong. Finished with sweet rolls and they were awesome! Had... More
