We find it pleasant and delicious. I’ve gone alone and sat at the sushi bar.
I’ve also enjoyed eating in the small dining room.

I stopped in for a California Roll and Bento Box. The interior of the restaurant was squeaky clean. The food was excellent and the service top drawer.

Having sought out good sushi and saki around the country and especially up and down the West Coast, we can always rely on Shogun to deliver an artful presentation of fresh, delicious sashimi and sushi, accompanied by an enjoyable draft saki. Service is welcoming and responsive. Price is reasonable. Our favorite sushi in Albuqueque, and we're grateful to have them here!

I like to support locally owned restaurants. The food is fine. The prices listed on this menu are out of date and under-represent current prices. When I pointed this out to the hostess, she said they have been unable to update the prices. I find that hard to believe for this site, as so many use it. She made no offer to match the price I saw. "Oh, that's too bad," was the excuse. So beware--don't believe the prices.

What a nice place with an extensive sushi menu, though what made the event even more delightful was the crunchy sushi and the plates with a New Mexico flavor. This was a new spot for us and we were most happy with the decision. Clean pleasant intimate contemporary atmosphere, with gracious hostess. If you like the old school sushi bar, it's got the floating boats that sail the order right to you.
It's certainly child friendly, though as with all sushi, small children or crying babies can simply ruin the experience for others, so best to be respectful of those who come for the food experience.
We fully intend to work our way though the menu, I'm only sorry it took us so long to get here.

My wife and I recently dined at the Shogun. We found the food to be fresh, tasty, and plentiful. The wasabi was good and hot, the salads crisp to the taste and the entrees prepared well. We will be returning to this Nob Hill gen.

Cool experience with sushi boats. Passing notes on the boats to the rest of the patrons was the highlight. Sushi was good for New Mexico but not the best.

The little boats that deliver your sushi at the bar are clever. The food was very good. I especially liked the chicken teriyaki bento box.

I guess I need to put on my ABQ hat - and try not to compare to some excellent Chicago udon and tempura. But oh dear, it's just lame. Fried gyoza were pastey ( and small) avocado roll (also small) lacking flavor - rice tasteless. Chicken teriyaki was way overcooked, even tough, tempura reasonably good, tho not as light as I have had, but shrimp had no flavor. Udon soups ok, veggie better than seafood, not much seafood - only a soggy tempura shrimp, and flavorless.

Albuquerque's and Knob hills best Sushi. They are fast and preparation skillfully and carefully executed. The tempura is light and fish assortment has always been fresh. This is Albuquerque's best Sushi! $$$

This place in the past was a great sushi place in Albuquerque. But management changed and it got to be quite dismal. Service, quality of food, and costs were not good.
A group decided to go there again. Service was good again but the quality of the sushi was not great. Big increase in price on many items. Definitely would go elsewhere like Azuma Sushi.

I eat here pretty frequently. I think it's about the best in Abq. I don't know what more I can say other than I have to write 100 characters before they'll accept my post. Rediculous. Not Shogun , Tripadvisor. Shogun is great. Enough said.

I've read about this place online and was intrigued by the fact that there are wooden boats floating in front of you with food for you to take.
First of all we've been served by an elderly woman who obviously didn't care too much for the fact that it was our first visit and therefore didn't explain too much without us asking for it.
So she said that we could grab whatever is coming around on the boats... after we've finished our food that we'd ordered per regular order on a form we were expecting some food floating around on the boats... but there wasn't any! The boats were empty THE WHOLE TIME.
Finally some food came around and I decided to pick it up. Half done the waitress came to us and told us that this would belong someone else and we would have to pay for it...How are we supposed to know that when it was on the boat??? We had to pay for ALL of it!
Therefore I've cut ALL of her Tip. Worst sushi place ever!!!

I've been to this restaurant many times in the past but lately the quality of food has gone a little downhill. However the service is still spectacular and maybe I just went on a day that wasn't the best. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box and the chicken was super dry. Everyone that I was with got sushi rolls and seemed to enjoy them fine.
