We generally visit La Placita about once a month or so. We go especially for the queso, which is my wife’s favorite of all the New Mexican restaurants in the state. Your other menu items aren’t very good, I particularly enjoy the ground beef tacos....More

This place and been there for years and continues to draw unsuspecting tourists. Facility is old, and has not been cleaned up or refreshed. Food was not worth the price, and service was slow.

Very mild New Mexican food and not quality food or flavor. Meals aren't hot and service is fair at best. Disappointing place to take out of town guests who want the "real" New Mexican food experience. The con queso was cold Velveeta with little chile...More

Delicious, well prepared Mexican cuisine with sopapillas to die for. The building is historic and interesting.

Horrible service. Less than average food. Waited almost 20 minutes for menu. Drinks took another 10 minutes. Food did come out hot but was tasteless. Another couple came in while we were waiting and after 15 minutes of no waitress they got up and left....More

My wife and I enjoyed dinner at La Placita while visiting Old Town. It was a great way to bring the evening to a close. We both ordered enchiladas. The red and green chili sauces were both excellent. The green was a bit too hot...More

We had an enjoyable meal with courteous and efficient staff. The environment was quaint and very fitting for the Old Town area. It was a relaxing, pleasant experience.

This restaurant knows about flavor--tasty and satisfying Mexican dishes. The server was extremely attentive and efficient, as well as courteous and patient. You cannot go wrong with this Old Town classic place!

La Placita is an Old Town Albuquerque fixture, and we dropped in on impulse on a cold weekday night after walking the Plaza and looking at Christmas lights. The comforting ambiance was still there; we were greeted by piñon burning in a corner fireplace, and...More

Yes, I believe the restaurant has a full liquor license . I also think that you can get separate checks at La Placita just let your server know when you are ordering.
