My wife and I went here to experience authentic southwest cuisine. We have better Mexican food back home in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. There are so many great trip adviser reviews about this place that we went here. I recommend some other place when in town.More

Seeking a place to celebrate our team championship, we landed in Monroe's on Lomas Blvd. Next to old town and only blocks from downtown, our choice couldn't have been any better. So warm and welcoming, this Albuquerque tradition served up suptumous New Mexican meals, the...More

This place was recommended to us by a local while we were visiting Albuquerque, and we liked it so well we went three times during our visit! Really tasty New Mexican food (many vegan/vegetarian options), and a lovely, helpful waitstaff.

Visited based on TA reviews after wandering around old town. Opted for take out based on bus schedule; take out menu available. Employee helpful in terms of recommendations, and getting order in quickly due to my time crunch. Carne adovada was a great choice: spicy,...More

On our way home to Denver from Las Vegas and decided to go the long way via I40 and I25. Never again on I40 as it is a major, major truck route but great unique geography. We had read Tripadvisor and had zeroed in on...More

Didn't get a good recommendation for a local (non-chain) spot from the hotel, so we sort of stumbled on Monroe's on our way to old town Albuquerque. Glad we did! First clue was a fairly full parking lot at early dinner time. (And overflowing when...More

Had the Indian Taco with carnitas and green Chiles with avocado which was an enormous portion and was seasoned well with excellent flavors. Friendly service with more than fair prices and a good desert flan make this locals place a real winner.

I always crave a good green chile cheeseburger when in ABQ. This place has the BEST I've had so far. PERFECT ratios of burger (not too thick), green chile (lots of it) and great cheese. The onion rings are also great...as are the fries (regular...More

This restaurant has it ALL right...the food, the local atmosphere, the prices and mostly the service. We were quickly greeted and served when we sat down. There was no touristy gimmick about the atmosphere, just a great local feel. The food was very good and...More

It'll never win any decor awards, but for tasty New Mexican food and local favorites, this is a great bet just outside touristy Old Town. The restaurant is popular with people in the neighborhood, so it's not a tourist trap like other spots in the...More
