If you like prime rib, order it. They do a nice job with the prime rib and offer horseradish sauce or prepared horseradish. The restaurant seems like something lost in the 70’s or 80’s. Giant salad bar with all the old fashioned items you’d expect....The service is hesitant and unsure, I’m not sure why. We were there with a large party so I’m not sure why we didn’t get a more seasoned waiter/waitress. I would only go back if someone insisted on going there.More

We met another couple here for dinner prior to a play at Popejoy. it was marvelous, and the restaurant was decked out with lots of holiday cheer. The salad bar can’t be beat with a great variety of items, and the selection of entrées is...very good. Service is excellent, and this is a great place to spend an evening with friends for dining.More

Had to come home to ABQ for a family emergency and went to The Cooperage for lunch today. Where else can you get freshly roasted signature prime rib for LUNCH?!? Add a salad bar to entree for $2.95 Anthony, the General Manager and Madalene my...bartender/server were fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant. While here, I also found out they do catering as well. I’ll be back !More

Worst experience I have had in my life. We had reservations for a party of 16 for Mother's Day. When we got there, the manager was on the phone yelling at a customer who had had a bad experience. We were seated on two different...tables. I went to inquiry about getting a table where we all could sit together or move our tables together. The hostess said the manager would not allow it. The restaurant had plenty of room. The manager walked up at the time and said he could not accommodate us. I told him we had made a reservation a week before and could had been told about the seating. He bluntly said that if we did not like it we could leave. Extremely rude and made to effort to correct the situation. We choose to leave and had the best experience at Nick and Jimmy's. They appreciated the business. I would not recommend The Cooperage to my worst enemy and the manager should be fired for his behavior. This does not seem to be a one time issue. It is INEXCUSABLE that The Cooperage would condone such poor customer service.More

Went for a late lunch today with some friends. I had Steak Rancheros and hubby had Santa Fe salmon. Mine was cooked correctly but had zero seasonings. The salmon, while tasty, was quite overcooked. It has been 20 years since I have been there and...probably another 20 before I go back. I will say the server, Adam, was good.More

My colleague and I both had the Prime Rib, which was good. Your choices are 7, 10 or 12 ounces. 7 oz. Was rather small so for $2 more I'd recommend going with the 10oz. It came with endless trips to the salad bar, which...had the most awesome Green Chili soup that I had to go back for. Service was nothing to rave about, it wasMore

We used to go the Cooperage often and have always had great food and service. We were in the area and decided to go. Our server was great but the manager was the rudest I have ever encountered! My wife ordered a ribeye that was...full of gristle all the way through. She tried cutting in further to see if it was just the edges but nope! A $28 steak should not be like that. I ordered Hawaiian chicken that was burnt and dry. We sent back the meat - kept our potatoes and looked at the menu to find something else but decided against ordering anything else. Again, the server was awesome and very apologetic. When she brought our bill, the manager had adjusted our ticket for two salad bars which were actually included with the dinners. He had to have charged us for the dinners AND two salad bars and then took off the dinners. The bill came to $27 for two salads. We told her we would pay for one salad bar and a baked potato which is what we ate. She had the manager come out and when we explained the issues, he said no one gets to eat for free. Explained that wasn’t what we wanted to do but wanted to pay for what we ate. He continued to be combative. As I had recently had surgery, I couldn’t eat much salad (picture included-took because it looks like I eat like a toddler 😁) and told him I basically ate a cucumber. He didn’t care and waited for me to pay and would not leave the table until I had. Told him we would never be back - he gave a look like “great.” I did tip our server well and left - will NEVER RETURN! Enjoy the pic of my $13 salad!!More

we dined here for my wife's birthday and enjoyed the atmosphere, food and especially the soup and salad bar! I believe their salad is the freshest in ABQ. They serve fresh hot bread, and the staff is always attentive to your needs. They do not...rush you and makes it a very nice place to eat. We will returnMore

My dad invited me for lunch at the Cooperage just after New Year's day, and we were looking forwad to good beef and maybe some seafood. We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, and although it wasn't very busy, we were practically ignored during...the entire time we spent there. The waiter was not very enthusiastic, never mentioned any specials, no recommendations, hardly checked on us and it took more than 40 minutes after we ordered to receive our meals. The prime rib was just Ok, baked potatoe is not offered during lunch, and the salmon was very bland. My father always thought of the Cooperage as a special, classy restaurant and after our recent visit, we're not planning on ever going back.More

We were traveling and needed to have our Thanksgiving meal cooked for us. We saw that The Cooperage would be open, and we made our reservation well in advance. The Cooperage offered not only a special plate filled with the traditional favorites, but also the...restaurant's full menu featuring prime rib. Our group's orders included the traditional turkey plate, fish and chips, the soup and salad bar, and apple pie. While I can't say any one dish was a knockout, all of the items were appealing, well-prepared, and served promptly, plus the pricing was family-friendly. The wood-paneled dining room felt relaxed and familiar, especially to diners of a certain age, and our server Monique was extraordinary. For the disabled, note that the ramp entrance to this older structure is tucked away at a back door, and wheelchair access to our salad bar was limited; however, the dining area was easy to navigate, and the staff was eager to smooth the way. We were more than satisfied with our Thanksgiving dinner at The Cooperage.More
