We were looking for Mexican food, but restaurants were closed due to Coronavirus. We called ahead to find out that they offer take out. we decided to go there and order in person. The manager greeted us at the door, told us that they had to close due to the special situation, but very happy to offer take-out. She personally took our orders. We waited for about 15 minutes, all food are ready for us to take home. They were all delicious! It is a very special time, we appreciate that they still offer take-out, and hopefully they get enough orders so workers can still get paid.

Over the past year the menu has shrunk, eliminating the interesting dishes and specials in favor of pedestrian dishes. My wife ordered an enchilada with red and green chile and the kitchen was too lazy to put it on. Sent out two tiny finger bowls of chile that wouldn't wet a corn chip. I ordered a blue corn enchilada and got yellow corn instead. I tried to order two different margaritas and the bar was out of the required tequila for both. Going down hill fast. Recommend finding a better place to eat.

When we lived in Albuquerque, we came often to El Patron for their wonderful food and great atmosphere- and often brought guests to enjoy it with us. Now that we've been away for several years, this was our first meal on returning to ABQ, and we just loved it. The atmosphere is still colorful and very Mexican, the menu is super tempting, and the food is outstanding! I had one of their magnificent coconut margaritas- what a great way to start! Then I had their special carnitas tacos- fantastico! My wife had the best, crispiest chile relleno she's ever had, in addition to an enchilada, and really loved them. Then it was great to recieve the hot sopapillas and honey for dessert. What a memorable 1st dinner back in ABQ.

On Sunday August 8 at 4pm I met a friend for dinner at El Patron on Wyoming. I ordered a frozen strawberry Margarita, and the waitress said, "I'm going to clean some tables, then I will order your Margarita". Fifteen minutes later the waitress gave me the Margarita. It was not frozen at all; just really foamy so they didn't have to give me as much and very watered down. When my food arrived, I asked if sopapillas came with the meal and the waitress literally yelled at me "there are no sopapillas (she emphasized the "s" at the end), you get ONE and it comes at the end of your meal." When we finally got our food and finished eating we waited and waited for our check. I asked for our check and again I was told "I'm going to clean some tables, then I will get your check". After this lovely customer service, they had the nerve to charge an "inflation fee". The only reason I went to the Wyoming location is because the girl that works at the front desk at the Montgomery location is even more rude. The last time I was there I told her co-worker "She hates her job, and she wants everyone to know". The co-worker replied, "some people are just like that". Where has customer service gone? Do not put yourself through the torture of going to either location of this restaurant. They are ridiculous. And then they think they can charge an inflation fee on top of the poorly trained, extremely rude staff.

Eight of us ate here after church last Sunday. The person sitting across from me and I ordered huevos rancheros. Both of our huevos were luke warm and the hash browns were cold. The waiter didn't come back for a long while and I told him about the problem. He left and when he finally came back after we were almost done he offered to get us some new hash browns but we declined as everyone was almost finished eating. The waiter did not come back very often to check on us. After sitting around for several minutes after we finished eating he finally brought our checks. We then sat there for 10 - 15 minutes waiting for him to take payment. We finally got up to try to pay at the bar and then he then rushed over to take our payment.

In general the food is ok however, there have been problems. In one instance, I ordered the fajitas medium rare but, they appeared to be closer to beef sushi or steak tartare. Other problems that occurred in the past involved not getting what we ordered served at our table. This has happened on numerous occasions. Most recently, I called in an order for a couple of taco plates for take out. They told me that it would be ready in 20 min. I arrived at the restaurant at the 30 minute mark and the order was not ready. I paid for my order when I arrived and I had to wait for an additional 30 minutes for my order. When my order was finally ready they attempted to charge me again but, I reminded them that I had already paid. This place has been filled with frustration and disappointment and their food is not that exceptional. I won't be going back.

Food was aweful. Cockroaches crawling on the floor. Extremely overpriced for ar a little hamberger meat in the enchilota and beans and rice. Red chille sucked. The waiter kept getting our order wrong, because it never wrote it down. The waiter was a freak, with eye make up, freaky earing dangling on one ear, and was dumb as a bag of broken hammers. If you want a freak show with the bad food go there otherwise do not. Rating minus 1000....

I went to his restaurant for lunch today. The hostess seated me, gave me some silverware and a menu. The place was very nearly empty. There were four waitstaff present. During the 20 minutes that I sat there all four members of the waitstaff passed by me several times and each one glanced in my direction as they passed. Nobody ever approached my table, brought me water, chips and dip, or indicated that they would be with me in a moment. It was very seriously as though I was not even there or was magically invisible. In addition to that, all staff members were walking at a very slow, casual stroll as if they were window shopping. Ultimately I got up and left and went to a place that knows how to treat customers.

The manager at Montgomery location, Spiro, was rude when I went to pick up food for my family. I didn't hear what he was saying & instead of being professional & kind- he said "what? You're not talking to me now?" I don't even know him- why is the GM talking to customers this way? Arleth was at the front receiving customers & her blase attitude spoke loudly that she didn't want to be there at all. Cool- let's hire some friendly/energetic people who can welcome customers please. Nadine (assistant manager to the owner) was what the restaurant needs to have more of: attentive, professionnel, caring & expediant. Food is delicious (as always). Please hire hardworking & courteous people.

Arriving on time for our reserved table and seated, our group of ten waited about 20 minutes for water. When we commented to our server that they must be having staffing trouble, we were told that for a slow Monday night there were more wait staff than necessary. From placing our order to being served the first dinners, almost two hours passed. We found it necessary to flag someone down for tea and water refills, and we were not offered chips and salsa until we asked. When the plates dribbled to the table, five people were served. A second tray of dinners was placed at the table across from us and abandoned. Finally, with others eating, I served the remaining plates myself. Still no sign of wait staff, and we were short one plates. Eventually the waiter returned but did not realize that one meal was still missing. By the time the missing plate appeared, everyone else was done eating. Had this occurred with wait staff struggling to manage the workload, it would be understandable. But there were wait staff standing around the restaurant watching but not helping. And last, there was no apology. This was a very poor introduction of Albuqerque to our visitors, and an embarrassment to us for what should have been a pleasant evening.

The only thing worse than bad service is no service. Friends and I went for dinner and drinks, after AN HOUR, we had water, not even drinks! The only way we got drinks was by going up to the bar... twice. We ordered appetizers, the nachos were not good and the frito pie didn't come until we asked twice and were ready to leave. Awful experience. Will not go back.

A warm evening on the patio with strolling musicians and a fun waiter. Delicious food and a fantastic coconut margarita! Plentiful chips of different types depending on what you ordered. My sis had mango added to her margarita. This place has many specialty and premium tequilas and one of their very own custom tequilas. Large parking lot and lighted so you feel safe. Just what we had in mind!

In the midst of our doomed city, this relative newcomer to New Mexican cuisine offers a delightful excursion into our lost restaurant glory. The fanciful 'village plaza' architecture evokes the now destroyed New Chinatown and the food reminds this longtime resident of all the best local restaurants but without their respective vices. All our dinners were excellent. The service was a little slow but courteous. I will return to try the bar; to entertain guests, to see how much longer this once wonderful city can hang on to something nice.

I look at the other reviews and wonder what they speak about. Our service was excellent! I am harsh but they did great by us. My review of food and drink is A+. Their Queso is to die for!! Simply amazing. I will spend the next year in my kitchen trying to replicate it if they will not share their recipe. Our friends had lamb tacos and declared them outstanding! My wife had steak tacos and said excellent. I ordered a combo and had maybe the best chili rellano I have ever eaten in NM, CO, CA and more. Simply GREAT! For breakfast next morning I had a self created stuffed sopadilla. Amazing. Our drinks were simply great also. The Bar deserves A+ for their efforts for us also. This restaurant simply deserves a higher rating. They were Outstanding for our party.

We had a great experience tonight. We were seated quickly even though they were fairly busy. Maurice was our waiter and he was great. The food was fabulous. We had margaritas which were brought quickly and very tasty. Chili con queso which was brought by the manager so we could get it quickly. The food was served timely and tasted wonderful. Maurice checked on us and refilled drinks responsively but was not intrusive. I thought price was reasonable. Two guitar players were there singing which was nice—not overly loud and very nice quality to the music.
