A warm evening on the patio with strolling musicians and a fun waiter. Delicious food and a fantastic coconut margarita! Plentiful chips of different types depending on what you ordered. My sis had mango added to her margarita. This place has many specialty and premium...tequilas and one of their very own custom tequilas. Large parking lot and lighted so you feel safe. Just what we had in mind!More

Amazing service!! So glad I came all the way from California to try it. If I could relive this experience everyday, I would. Absolute satisfaction!!

In general the food is ok however, there have been problems. In one instance, I ordered the fajitas medium rare but, they appeared to be closer to beef sushi or steak tartare. Other problems that occurred in the past involved not getting what we ordered...served at our table. This has happened on numerous occasions. Most recently, I called in an order for a couple of taco plates for take out. They told me that it would be ready in 20 min. I arrived at the restaurant at the 30 minute mark and the order was not ready. I paid for my order when I arrived and I had to wait for an additional 30 minutes for my order. When my order was finally ready they attempted to charge me again but, I reminded them that I had already paid. This place has been filled with frustration and disappointment and their food is not that exceptional. I won't be going back.More

We were looking for Mexican food, but restaurants were closed due to Coronavirus. We called ahead to find out that they offer take out. we decided to go there and order in person. The manager greeted us at the door, told us that they had...to close due to the special situation, but very happy to offer take-out. She personally took our orders. We waited for about 15 minutes, all food are ready for us to take home. They were all delicious! It is a very special time, we appreciate that they still offer take-out, and hopefully they get enough orders so workers can still get paid.More

Eight of us ate here after church last Sunday. The person sitting across from me and I ordered huevos rancheros. Both of our huevos were luke warm and the hash browns were cold. The waiter didn't come back for a long while and I told...him about the problem. He left and when he finally came back after we were almost done he offered to get us some new hash browns but we declined as everyone was almost finished eating. The waiter did not come back very often to check on us. After sitting around for several minutes after we finished eating he finally brought our checks. We then sat there for 10 - 15 minutes waiting for him to take payment. We finally got up to try to pay at the bar and then he then rushed over to take our payment.More

So why did we go back? We took out of town company everytime, and we live just down the street, and the drinks are fantastic. But just when I thought it was safe to order a "special" or something new they failed to deliver. It's...like food in the military. It starts out good product, but in the wrong hands it falls flat. They ruined the lamb, and supposed prime rib by running them through the moisture removal machine. And its the old wallpaper paste refried beans and food colored rice. No thanks. I figured we dropped over $350 there over the 5 visits. We'll not eat there again. BUT, the Margaritas are superb. Don't get sucked into paying for their DELUXE ones either. Their house will do you very well, and ALL their draft beers come in frozen mugs for your imbibing pleasure. You can't go wrong with what comes over the bar. Enjoy.More

This place is a go to for date nights. We really enjoy the house margaritas here as well as the food. I typically order the same dish every time (creature of habit) but my husband has tried a few and enjoyed them all. Its a...great place to bring family and friends as the menu is huge and offers a great variety. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some good Northern New Mexican style food.More

Someone else commented that it’s not authentic New Mexican food. I can’t comment on that since I’m not in the know, but I can say that we found our dinner there to be very, very good and the house margaritas were delicious. The live music...added to the festive atmosphere. We’d definitely go back again.More

We were really disappointed in the food. Nothing of flavor. My husband was born and raised in New Mexico. This is not Authentic. Seems like they are tailoring the food to visitors. He had tamales and left 1/2. I had a taco filled with bland...chicken. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment.More

Unbelievable service, food and drinks! We are out here only once a year for balloon fiesta, but we get to El Patron at least twice! Their food is unique, spicy, fresh and delicious. Their drinks and tequila far surpasses anything we have had in Albuquerque!...We usually come with a large group (9-15) and with notice they are more than happy to accommodate us. Shout out to Panos (manager) and Roderick (amazing wait staff) !! We will see you next year!!More

Sorry for the delayed answer, I just saw the question. The new El Patron is 1 block north of Paseo Del Norte on Wyoming. It is where the Whataburger was. It’s small and cozy with a small inside bar area for bar specials. I... More
