We stopped in for an early dinner, mid-week, and the place looks like it's closed up for good. No sign on the door, but the windows are all covered with newspaper. We ended up going next door to the BBQ place.

Jennifer Jones 101 is one of a handful of locally owned and noteworthy bistros set apart from the national chain restaurant haven that dominates the city of Albuquerque. Set to move to another location on April 7 of this year (hopefully to remain in this city), Jennifer Jones, the owner and chef, puts her stamp of approval on every dish... More

We've eaten at Jennifer James 101 several times a year since the restaurant opened. Our most recent visit, like all the others was a lovely evening long food adventure. JJ101 (as we locals call it) represents a real food point of view. Jennifer James likes fresh local ingredients; slightly humorous takes on old standards like chick pea fries, a fairly... More

Driving up to this place, you wouldn't think it would be anything special. It's right next store to a hamburger joint where you can throw darts. But hidden behind the doors is a great little gem. Seating is limited, so make reservations. The menu options were comforting foods with a refreshing spin on them. Our wait staff was attentive and... More

Took a friend for dinner at this rather hipster chic diner-looking place in a retro setting. Exclusive comfort food, with a nice nod to vegetarians as well. Friend had scallops and risotto (wonderful); I tried to stay sensible and did exclusively vegetarian (with a deviled egg smuggled in there somewhere). Locally sourced vegetables. Chocolate shots for dessert.Very, very nice service.... More

Four couples ate here the last of October. The service was very good, and everyone enjoyed their dinner. The food was well prepared and not the run-of-the-mill selections.

We make a point of dining at Jennifer James 101 every time we visit Albuquerque. The service is excellent, the food has a uniqueness and we have never been disappointed . Diners can watch the chef and her kitchen crew from most of the seats...a show of Jennifer's true dedication to her craft.

We had dinner for four here and everyone loved every dish. The entrees were delicious and attractively served. Service was excellent. A bottle of Oregon pinot noir went perfectly with our meals. The menu is varied and interesting.

There were six of us gathered at Jennifer James 101 on a Wednesday night. Several of us had appetizers of the heritage tomatoes and half servings of the shrimp and grits. Everything was superb. One of our group had the steak that was an addition. It was more than enough for her so several of us took single slices of... More

Met friends for dinner here on a recent weekend evening. Jennifer James 101 is a small, 'gourmet' restaurant with a fairly limited menu but all the items are specialty. Our party of 6 had a very nice meal, but the noise level was bad. The restaurant is small and popular and was completely full, and we could barely hear each... More
