Heading north to Pensylvania and found this place online. Drove a little out of our way and then had to wait in line outside for a while. It was worth it. This place has been open since 1920. They have learned how to cook Our scrapple was outstanding. The service was unbelievable. This is a do over when driving 95.

Diner atmosphere with all the lunch/dinner specials you associate with an old fashioned diner. Not out of date at all. Adorable decor, quaint atmosphere. Great food. Can't wait to go again.

The service was very good, our waitress was a true southern belle, and the food was delicious and truly southern! Take a few turns off the interstate, find a parking place and enjoy. Would recommend and return!

My mother, sister, and I stopped in on our way to Williamsburg December 31. I had the special of chicken and dumplings, green beans and spoon bread. It was delicious! The atmosphere was great, service was fast and servers were very pleasant and helpful. Next door are some very nice antique stores. Would definitely stop again!

This is a regular spot for us for breakfast! Specials are a treat - but the regular menu has several choices that are also delicious. Also meet as a group once a month here - very accommodating! Staff will treat you like family each and every visit...

Wow! Want s great authentic breakfast, well this is the place for you! I enjoyed the salmon cakes. My husband had the salty herring, and the kids french-toast. Fast service, clean, and close to the highway!

The Dixie is a small family run restaurant that serves very reasonably priced comfort food. My wife and I had chili dogs which the Dixie is known for. They are located in old towns Petersburg so it is fun to go into the nearby shops after eating.

The Dixie is a landmark breakfast and lunch establishment in the heart of Old Towne Petersburg since the 1920s and in it's current location since 1939. It has seen several owners over the years and remains a local favorite.
We specialize in traditional southern cuisine. Our menu items include our famous Dixie Dog which is a red hot dog with mustard, onions and our tasty chili sauce. We also serve fried Salt Herring, Salmon Croquettes, Meatloaf, Chicken & Dumplings, made from scratch Pimento Cheese, and Chicken Salad. We offer a variety of sandwiches, barbeque, burgers and hot-plate specials that change daily.
