Maybe best restaurant in Corpus. Great fish. Even though it’s an Asian restaurant it’s more an upscale seafood restaurant. My wife and I have been several times including for an anniversary. The Chilean sea bass is so good we have it every time we go.

Went there on a Thursday evening, not many people there when we were seated. We ordered a couple of cocktails, we waited 25 minutes before they were served. Should have been a red flag. Got ribs and spring rolls. They were okay. We ordered a...special, the chateaubriand. After waiting 2 hours it finally came out. First problem was the chateaubriand should be cut at table by wait staff. It was just dropped off at our table. The biggest problem was it was raw and for the most part inedible. I could have sent it back, but at this point we noticed several tables around us were having service and food problems. I wasn't willing to wait another hour to get my food prepared properly. I get it, we are coming out of COVID, restaurants are short staffed. But Vietnam Restaurant shot themselves in the foot. They could have avoided having us and the other patrons upset by bad service and bad food. Some suggestions to Vietnam Restaurant, don't serve specials if you can't prepare them properly. Limit the number of table seated if you can't serve them properly. I am upset I paid $65 for the "special" chateaubriand i couldn't eat. When I pointed this out to waiter, he was like "yep your steak is raw" but offered no price discount or anything else to make up for this major mistake. I think he had kind of given up with all the problems that evening. I can recommend Thai Spice Restaurant, right down the street, good and prompt service and good food. They are great people who can deliver good food and good service.More

The food is good, but I had been there twice in the last two months and the service is horrible. I waited around 10 minutes until someone notice that I wanted a table and later the server took 30 minutes to bring the menu. The...food is good but you need to be paciente or gol somewhere else.More

My wife and I wanted an early lunch and got to Vietnam at the 11:00 opening on Tuesday, wearing masks into the restaurant on N Water St. & Starr St. Parking was easy in the restaurant's back lot or on a meter street-side. Upon opening...the door, the good smells drew us farther into the restaurant and we were seated immediately. Our server, Brian, helped us with our orders and described the day's specials. My wife was in a mind for curries and had the shrimp ($27) and I took the king salmon special ($38), as my wife and I met in Alaska and we know a few things about the fish. The place was quiet and we enjoyed the Asian ambiance, overlooking the Buddha statue, and the bathrooms were sparkling clean. The first course was chicken-and-rice soup and our entrées were ready by the time we finished. My gosh. The salmon was wonderful. Farm-raised, it was lightly seared on the outside (The Vietnamese chef trained in San Francisco; did she use a torch?) for the caramelized crispiness so utterly appealing, then perfectly cooked inside. My wife enjoyed her curried shrimp, but I was crazy about that piece of salmon. The key lime pie ($10) was good, but really more of a raspberry cheesecake. Sorry, no military discounts for the 27,500+ veterans of Nueces County and 4,500+ active duty troops, but I was pleased to pay the $85 bill and leave a tip to Brian.More

The exterior of the building is misleading. Inside it is very open and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. They try to accommodate your requirements They have a variety of fresh fish dishes and will prepare them in a variety of ways. I found...it a little spicy but that is my taste. It is located behind the Holiday Inn. It is one of the best places I found to eat in Corpus Christi.More

Three of us were hosted here for dinner by the company that we were visiting. Dinner was reserved for 6pm, and there was a very short wait before we were seated. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the off-menu specials, such that I ordered off-menu....Appetizers arrived with minimal delay, the Chateaubriand steak entrée was perfectly cooked and delicious, and came quickly and was delicious.More

Vietnam Restaurant In in my top 5 Corpus Christi restaurants. Usually very quiet and peaceful, good location for an intimate dinner (and good for small groups as well). They have dishes that are traditional and dishes not too spicy. Reasonably priced wine list too.

Hotel staff at the Omni recommended this place because it was within walking distance of the hotel. We were told it was a nice, quiet place, but actually it was crowded and loud---maybe because there was a convention going on. Also, it meant that we...had to wait a long time to be served and to receive our meal. Our waiter made up for the slowness by treating us to dessert: Creme Brule. It was excellent!More

It has been a long while since visiting the Viet Nam and accompanied a couple who brag about it to no end. Was not my preference due to bad experiences with the bill in past years. On April 12, 2019, it was a very different...experience. The food was timely , the service impeccable , even the Mater-D stopped by to check on meal progress several times. Meal was delightful especially the roast 1/2 chicken which could easily feed 2! No longer the eatery of 2015!More

We eat there regularly for lunch and enjoy one of the waiter’s Mark’s company as well as any server there. The food is very consistent and always good. It is also not as loud as many restaurants; which is another reason we eat there.

My wife and I c a's me here for our anniversary. The server was very helpful in explaining the menu and even told us about the off menu options for that night. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was so good. My...wife keeps saying she can't stop thinking about it. I had the crispy chicken after reading all the recommendations and it was amazing. I forget what my wife ordered but it was a fried shrimp dish. She said it was good, but was hoping it would be spicy and it wasn't. Good to know for next time. We ended our meal with the chocolate mousse cake which was also amazing. It was pricey for us but worth it in my opinion.More
