“Padre Island Burger Company is the vision of chef/owner Jason. Born and raised in Corpus Christi and currently a proud Padre Island resident, Jason had long wanted to open a restaurant/bar of his own. He has his bachelor’s degree from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York, where he honed not only his cooking skills, but his management skills as well.” Please do not use the menu from TripAdvisor, it is out of date and TripAdvisor will not let me change/update it. The food is outstanding, flavor taste and temperature of the food coming out. I’m the other hand the time get your food is horrible.
Upon coming in there is only one line to order, so if the is to costumer or or a group you had to wait outside before you can even come in to order, so if you are in the middle of the heat, that is a bad idea to be there.
After ordering our food, that was 15 min before we got to the window seating outside. We finally order our food and the food took over 45 min for some nachos and 3 burgers.
Food rate 5 stars
Costumer service and delivery 2 stars
Just feel bad for the staff because this don’t only affects the restaurant but also employees try to make tips.
My final thoughts. Kitchen is understaff or not on same page

The burger specials include bacon a bit too much.
We made our own burger and only with the addition of garlic aioli it was great!
Also had The Chonic with avocado, green chillies and Jack cheese.....also great flavor with a little heat too.
Counter service, bar service and outdoor seating.
Totally recommended.

We had lunch there today. I’d read reviews and wanted to try it. SO glad we did, it was wonderful! I had the “First Date” and hubs had “Mr Beckham” both were wonderful. We will definitely return for another visit. Some have commented on the $ for their food😫 You pay for what you get and theirs is worth every bit of it. We so much enjoyed our burgers (&yummy fries) that we do not need or want dinner. Thank you PIBC! We come to port a several times a year and you will be at the top of our list.

My husband and I went there after a day at the beach Sunday evening. We ordered 2 burgers and a kids meal and waters and were at 40 bucks. Would have been OK if they were great burgers, but in our opinion they tasted like pre made patties that were so big you could barely get your mouth around the burger. Bigger is not always better. Also my cheeseburger tasted like it was sprinkled with sugar... Perhaps it was a sweet bun? This may appeal to some, but I consider it one of the worst burgers I've ever had. Ended up throwing most of it away which felt wasteful. We had to sit outside because inside was loud and crowded. Outside may have been pleasant seating for a family with older children, but with only large picnic tables and no height chairs we spent the time juggling our 1 year old son. Hard to do with such a messy dinner that requires both hands to eat. Also the seagulls were dive bombing the other patrons left over food which was a bit obnoxious. After 15 minutes my husband went in to request they come and bus the tables so we could try to eat. Really the only good part of the meal were the fries. Save your money and go elsewhere...

We have lived on the island for about a year and have heard good things about this place.
Today, Tuesday, we decided to order takeout for lunch(due to COVID).
We ordered two burgers (with bacon) and a side of fries for one of them and a side of onion rings or the other.
Good:
The size of the burgers were large. The buns were a bit sweet, butter toasted, and fabulous. The tomatoes, lettuce, and onion on the burgers were fresh and crisp.
The order was ready when promised.
Bad:
The price: just over $29. (No drinks).
The meat, dry, and seemingly with fillers added… Strange texture.
Bacon was not well done, rubbery, making the burgers difficult to eat gracefully.
There were no sauces on the burger whatsoever. Mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup were provided in mini-packets.
Both the fries and the onion rings were served lukewarm.
I love hamburgers. But these simply didn’t measure up.
there is a Whataburger within 1/4 mile of this place. They offer a more diverse and familiar burger menu, HOT & fresh fries onion rings and burgers in a family atmosphere. There is sunny patio out back with tables overlooking the water (canals) - and a family friendly atmosphere. Best of all, there is an adjoining bar patio… So if you want that beer, it is available(!).
From my personal experience here on this island W’burger is a much better value.
We won’t be returning.

Food was mediocre with the exception of the Lulu burger. After spending $75 for 4 burgers/fries/cokes I would have been happier with Whataburger. Order taker was unfriendly, sarcastic and impatient. After ordering it took 75 minutes to get our food and they weren’t very busy at all. Very disappointed as most of the reviews were positive and that’s why we stopped to eat here. Won’t be returning.

Me and my family got recommended to come this restaurant for dinner.
The wait was 1 hour 30 minutes, everyone was tired before the food even came out, and when the food finally came out (keep in mind everyone ordered burgers and honestly it doesn't take 1 hour 30 minutes for for burgers) they were dry and tasteless. The only good part about our food was the fries they were really good. I am not sure if will give them a try again in the future.

Burger experience… if this is what you’re looking for then you’re going to like it, big list of unique, slightly pricey but very large hamburgers. You order at a counter, then find a seat and then maybe grab something at the bar which is fairly decent size. Inside it’s pretty small but there are also seating areas outside too. Really not a place where you would take a family with little kids after 8pm, but that’s not the audience they are looking for at that time. If you’re looking at a interesting adult place to have a super burger that you might have to wait a little bit for, just like many other places on the island then you should check it out. The bartenders were friendly and the piña colada‘s got a thumbs up! After 1030 on a Sunday night it definitely was more like a bar atmosphere with the music, but would be a fun place just to hang out for a little bit (got to watch part of the Stanley Cup playoffs on one of the numerous TVs) if that’s what you want! Everyone on staff was actually very nice!

We had a great experience at this place a year ago, so we had high hopes.
However, when we arrived, there was a slow moving line outside. It was Saturday night, so we just though they were busy.
Turns out, the kitchen was way behind, and everything was backed up.
We waited about 90 minutes from the time we ordered until our buzzer went off alerting us to pick up our food.
It’s one thing to wait forever for really good food, but our burgers were overcooked and cold. It was obvious our food sat under the warming lights for quite some time before we were notified. We didn’t eat much if our food, and left feeling disgusted.
The only reason I gave this two stars is that the pina colada machine was working, and the bartenders were quick and efficient.
I hope this place can pull it together, because it could be a good after-beach spot.

Hey Shellys, (we remember you!) we apologize for your experience. Saturday night our computer system went down for 20 minutes and backed up an already busy night! We let every single customer know a wait time of at least an hour and a half after this outage. Since 2008 we have never had a wait of 90 minutes just to let you know (it was a first). Also we refunded your order as well. The food was coming out super quick so there was also zero chance of it being cold. We thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, next time please speak to the manager. I was there and handled every customer who had an issue with the outage. Thank you again.

55 minute wait from ordering to when our food was served. Burger was dry, masked with some kind of greasy gravy. Chicken tenders were close to inedible. Grilled cheese was barely grilled, cheese wasn’t even allowed to melt. Look for other options on the island. Rude staff from start to finish.

We came to the island for vacation and decided to try this restaurant because of the great reviews. The burgers were good but a bit pricey. From the outside it looks like a family type restaurant, but once inside had more of a bar atmosphere. The staff was friendly. The fried pickles were good. We were told the soda machine was not working and as we were sitting there eating seen staff go over and get soda from the machine.

If they ever say there’s a 30-40 minute wait just go somewhere else to eat. It’s not worth the wait . They first ran out of chips an queso and told me after I had ordered and waited for them. When I finally received my food it was burnt . Didn’t return it bc I didnt want to wait another 30+ minutes so I took the burnt pieces off and ate it that way .

Came with my brother for an early dinner on a Wednesday. Both ordered the Philly cheesesteak with fries. Wait time wasn’t terrible for the food, but the food itself was awful. Meat, mushrooms and onions were cold and burnt to a crisp. Queso poured over as I walked up to bring it back to the table, all over the place. Tried to eat it as I hadn’t had food all day, but couldn’t even bring myself to eat more than 3 bites. Fries were okay. Best thing about the meal was the damn soda from the fountain. Highly recommend staying far away.

Stop here every year when we are on the Island. Delicious food, easy ordering, and a wide variety of choices. Friend had an issue with his order...the ladies up front were concerned, acted on the issue, and made it right. You won't be disappointed...great place if you are looking for a great burger and fries.
