Can't say enough good about it. We had several dishes, Spanish octopus, Caesar salad, raw oysters, shrimp & grits, seared calamari and everything was top notch. Given that it was a Sunday evening I was slightly apprehensive, but nothing disappointed. Waitress Miriah could not have...been better - beautiful, sweet, engaging, and attentive. Music playlist was on point with late 80's vibes. Dining room has high ceilings, light & airy atmosphere. Would definitely go back if in SLC.More

Went for a large group dinner. Food, drinks, and service were great!! Limited menu due to large group. Will return to try expanded menu.

The steak was dry I choked on it. Don’t listen to the reviews. I’m baffled that this restaurant is rated so high. We spent way too much money for mediocre food. We left hungry and ate at chipotle after. Highly pretentious establishment.

Very interesting/pleasant well-tended decor and comfortable booth seats giving some privacy. My companion and I tried the Clam Chowder and Fish 'n Chips. The Chowder was so thick on could stand up a spoon in the bowl. Xnt. The Fish was xnt quality and the...fries were fresh and crisp. Vinegar was served automatically and the Tartar Sauce and ketchup replenished as needed by the attentive server. For dessert we had the xnt Chocolate Chip ice cream which may have been made onsite (I forgot to ask). In addition to all the food items being of top quality, the portions were also satisfying. The food was served quickly. I think we were there barely more than 6 minutes before our food arrived. The menu as one would expect is nearly all fish-related. IIRC there was a chicken dish as well. Was impressed at how the staff worked together as a team like a well-oiled machine. Am happy to give Current Fish & Oyster one of my rare 5 star ratings. Can't wait to get back to SLC and eat here again.More

For fish aficionados, this is a must-visit destination! Housed in a repurposed garage, traces of its history are charmingly evident in its facade and roofing. The ambiance sets a perfect backdrop for an exquisite meal. We indulged in the market fish, scallops, fish stew, and...salmon. To finish off, we savored a delightful selection of ice creams and sorbets. Every dish was an embodiment of culinary excellence.More

If you are looking for a bland piece of fish with a boring potato you won’t find it here! We were treated really well for our anniversary dinner last night and this place exceeded my expectations. Here’s what we got: Focaccia with fresh butter and...sea salt- it was mind blowing. It was seriously so good. If that’s all you got for dinner you would be happy. Calamari- our least favorite dish as it was a little on the fishy tasting side. Crab cakes- the best I’ve ever had. Most places use old crab bits and are so dry and these were not. Super good! Halibit- it was the market fish for the day and was cooked and plated beautifully. Lobster tail- perfect! Shrimp and grits- they were good but needed some heat. After seeing previous photos I can’t help wonder if they left something off the dish by mistake? Chocolate cake with blood orange caramel and lemon possett with blueberry and powdered olive oil- absolutely amazing. We were so full but managed to eat it all! Our meal was the kind I will think about for awhile and I can’t wait to go back and try more items! Everything was plated so stunningly and we had a great experience!More

Just so, so. Not a good experience for this type of establishment or for the price. We expected better and I can’t recommend. The cocktail was excellent, the oysters were good. The crab cakes weren’t flavorful and the chowder was bland. It’s not that we...were treated poorly, but it was as if they didn’t really care about where we were seated and it felt rushed. I won’t be back because the whole experience was awkward…More

The restaurant is located in a nondescript part of town. There is a car wash just across the street whose noise could be problematic for those dining outside, but we heard nothing inside. The décor is more modern, but with a fair amount of booth...seating. We sat in a booth just across from the kitchen, which turned out just fine. My wife ordered the Selby chardonnay; I ordered the Willamette Valley pinot noir. Both were excellent. As appetizers, my wife ordered the ceviche, and I ordered the grilled Spanish octopus. The ceviche included melon (honey dew), jicama, jalapeno, cilantro and sushi-grade tuna, w/ a hint of citrus. To me, it tasted a little bit flat, but still good. And it was inventive. The octopus was tender and very tasty, especially with the eggplant sauce vs. the tomato-chili sauce. As main meals, my wife ordered the vegetarian curry cauliflower w/ lentils, and I ordered the grilled, striped sea bass, which came with a citrus-whey sauce and broccolini. Both were delicious. For desert, we shared one scoop of the bourbon-caramel gelato. Also excellent.More

I had high hopes for this place but it ended up disappointing. Their menu is small, which isn’t a big deal, but I always hope everything they offer is delicious. I had their crab cakes with a side salad. The crab cakes were good but...the side salad was quite bland. I also had the grilled oysters and Spanish octopus; both were mediocre and the latter was a it rubbery. My companion had the shrimp and grits, which was probably my favorite thing on the table. In my opinion, the food is a little overpriced for what it is. That said, service was very good.More

Worthy of Michelin 2. A well trained and professional staff complements the dining experience and if your server is knowledgeable, personable and attentive like Lyssa, the meal is even tastier. Making a reservation enhances the experience.
