I had high hopes for this place but it ended up disappointing. Their menu is small, which isn’t a big deal, but I always hope everything they offer is delicious. I had their crab cakes with a side salad. The crab cakes were good but...the side salad was quite bland. I also had the grilled oysters and Spanish octopus; both were mediocre and the latter was a it rubbery. My companion had the shrimp and grits, which was probably my favorite thing on the table. In my opinion, the food is a little overpriced for what it is. That said, service was very good.More

Worthy of Michelin 2. A well trained and professional staff complements the dining experience and if your server is knowledgeable, personable and attentive like Lyssa, the meal is even tastier. Making a reservation enhances the experience.

Best restaurant we've been to this week. We had the salmon-which was marinated and excellent. We also had the NY Steak, which was well seasoned and excellent for a seafood restaurant. Very good service and pleasant atmosphere. Current delivers.

Just a cool place. The most outstanding aspect of the restaurant were the friendly bartenders. I sat at the bar and they went out of their way to ensure that I had a great time and felt welcome. My cocktail was too sweet but the...yellowtail carpaccio starter was delicious with strawberries as an accent and a yummy green sauce. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the accompanying mashed potatoes and green beans were great as well. The atmosphere is cool chic and everyone seemed to have a great time here. I loved it. I had a starter, cocktail, main course and glass of wine and my bill was $75 before tip. Hope this helps.More

WE had a most pleasant dinner here. They could not give us reservations for a table, but said come to eat and we'll seat you at the bar. This turned out an excellent move. The place is quite slick and visually pleasing. The grilled octopus...was great and the crab cakes perfectly done. Good house wine as well!More

My husband and I went here for my birthday dinner. The restaurant is very nice. The decor is unique, the staff is very friendly, and the food was amazing! We got 1/2 of the seafood tower and it was phenomenal! Such a fun dish and...just enough for 2 people. The crab cakes were delicious also. We ended the meal with the guava cheesecake because we are self proclaimed cheesecake connoisseurs and it was very light, the crust was the perfect texture, and the blueberries cut the sweetness. Top notch! Highly recommend!More

I was visiting my daughter in SLC for Christmas. She wanted to try Current because she had heard it was very nice. We had reservations and were seated right away. Our server was very attentive. There was an extensive wine list and we were pleased...with our choices. We shared an order of mussels that were phenomenal. Daughter ordered shrimp and grits, and she thought the shrimp was a bit overcooked. I had the seafood Cobb salad and a bowl of clam chowder. My salad was delicious. The clam chowder didn't have an discernible clams in it, so that was disappointing. This is an expensive restaurant, and I left feeling like it was a little overpriced and overrated.More

Came to CURRENT while attending the Cleanpower 21 renewable energy conference. Very well appointed with attentive staff. Came for the oysters and the Kumamotos were great. Recommend a reservation as Current is quite popular.

i’ve been here once. It’s pretty good. Great cocktail and wine list. I had a seafood stu, ceviche and some oysters. They were pretty good. Probably one of the better restaurants I’ve been to in sometime. Everything well executed and presented. Perfectly cooked and great...flavors and texture. Good service to. I might just go back againMore

Our meal was just fair at best. We started with a seafood tower and the lobster tails were over cooked and really tough. The rest of the meal was just ok. I would think twice about going back... sorry.

On my first-ever trip to Utah (I'm a lifelong Philadelphian) my daughter suggested dinner at Current. I was overwhelmed. All our dishes were amazing. The meal compares favorably with anything I've had in Philly, Paris, Rome, NY or elsewhere. Our server Lyssa did a great...job. Insider tip: try the yuzu posset for dessert.More

This place was awesome. Spouse and I came for lunch and were very positively impressed. Grilled oysters were superb. Shishito added a nice spiciness, and butter made them rich and delicious. Grilled fish sandwich held a thick, entree-sized filet of steelhead trout --- sweet, fresh...and perfectly cooked to medium rare. Crab cakes were very good as well. It's in an amazing open space in a heritage building. The exposed architecture and restrained design make it contemporary but not cold. Our server, Ryan, was helpful, courteous, and pleasant. I can't recommend this place highly enough, especially at lunchtime when value for the price is high.More

Super cute atmosphere and decor. Lots of flowers everywhere, really nice area to sit outside. We grabbed oysters and their bread appetizer which was some of the best baked bread we’ve ever had. Oysters were fresh and tasty. Great wine list to pair off. Would...recommend.More
