We visited Red Iguana 1 and 2 on our visit to Salt Lake City. This review is for Red Iguana 1. This is a very popular restaurant so expect to wait for a while, especially if you have a large group. They do take reservations for large groups but they have specific guidelines which can be found on their website.... More

Our party of 8 just got pushed on to Iguana 2.. We came all the way from the UK... ;( For the one on DD&D's!!! If you want the real deal, plan ahead and speak to them at least a week before. Good luck;) Bless.

We love Red Iguana and have been dining here for many many years. Everything is great. Their mole's are spectacular. I have a hard time deciding which one to smother my burrito in because each sauce is delicious and has a distinct flavor. The killer nachos are just exactly that, "killer".

I don't get the buzz about this place. We waited outside in the rain and cold...actually went to the car for a portion of the 30 minute wait and then got chastised because apparently Salt Lake City has a 2 minute idling law, finally got seated where we were elbow to elbow with another table. The food was tasty, but... More

We were visiting Salt Lake and a relative as well as a local friend both recommended this restaurant. We hadn't had breakfast so we opted for an early lunch. We knew it was quite a walk, but decided we could use a good walk after a long car ride. We finally got there and it didn't disappoint. I had heard... More

Get a mole platter to see what you like the best, or order the special. The mole is made fresh daily. You cannot go wrong. No reservations but two locations. If there are too many people in line, we go down the street to the other. Atmosphere is great, service is professional. If you like Mexican, this is the best.... More

Long wait..but had time to chat with other "tourists"...food was ok..too many choices..didn't like the location of our table...right next to another. Waitress was very pleasant and explained a lot. It's a unique place...lots of locals..not only tourists. They do offer benches and a water cooler while waiting ( 45mins)

Dissappinting and inauthentic, not to mention over rated and over priced. I don't know why there is such a hype about this place. If you want average food then eat here. Otherwise try other more authentic places.

Go to the original Red Iquana for the full experience. The staff is as exceptional as the food! The sampler plate of moles was a great introduction to the menu choices. Tamarind margarita was delicious.
