Awesome dinner. We had to 1/2 an hour, which is usual but totally worth the wait. Try their mole sampler. The pumpkin is amazing-- and the mango enchiladas are to die for!!

The food was good and not too expensive. With larger or stronger margaritas, I would be willing to bump them up another star.

So, never go for dinner if you don't want to wait in an hour long line. But, even then, this food is worth it. Best Mexican food in the state. Don't miss out on this gem.

I am usually skeptical of hyped, older restaurants. Either they are living on past glories, or the patrons are sentimental, and don't recognize that the restaurant's time has past. Red Iguana fits neither of these descriptions. The waitstaff were friendly and helpful. Service was attentive without being annoying or obtrusive. Since it was our first time there, we had to... I live in Texas so I have had some really good Mexican food. I was surprised that how good the food was here. The salsa was really good. I had burritos and they were excellent.

We visited Red Iguana 1 and 2 on our visit to Salt Lake City. This review is for Red Iguana 1. This is a very popular restaurant so expect to wait for a while, especially if you have a large group. They do take reservations for large groups but they have specific guidelines which can be found on their website.... More

We love Red Iguana and have been dining here for many many years. Everything is great. Their mole's are spectacular. I have a hard time deciding which one to smother my burrito in because each sauce is delicious and has a distinct flavor. The killer nachos are just exactly that, "killer".

I don't get the buzz about this place. We waited outside in the rain and cold...actually went to the car for a portion of the 30 minute wait and then got chastised because apparently Salt Lake City has a 2 minute idling law, finally got seated where we were elbow to elbow with another table. The food was tasty, but... More

We were visiting Salt Lake and a relative as well as a local friend both recommended this restaurant. We hadn't had breakfast so we opted for an early lunch. We knew it was quite a walk, but decided we could use a good walk after a long car ride. We finally got there and it didn't disappoint. I had heard... More
