We were there because the tour bus stop was near. It is cafeteria style and the food is just average. There are raves about the rolls which were nice, nothing exception in my opinion.

Not only is the restaurant located in Brigham Young's historic Lion House, where he lived with several of his many spouses, it offers very affordable comfort food and warm dinner rolls that are as addictive as they are tasty and loaded with carbs.

Wow I was blown away by this Historic House. It was lived in by the Mormon Prophet Brigham Young and apparently many wives. They wives part is ancient Mormon history but no longer a practice today. Thank goodness, I don't know how they did it. Take the tour you will enjoy it.

I work in downtown Salt Lake City. I will walk over to the Lion House just for the rolls and honey/butter. Good and cheap.

Only the basement is open, which is converted into a family-style eatery. Dishes are wholesome and plentiful and quite affordable. One cannot visit upstairs, unfortunately. Maybe someone still lives up there?

2 of us arrived at 4:45 p.m. for roast beef which the menu on the web site said would be served for that day. It was not available as we were told many served at lunch, yet restaurant is open until 8 p.m. I decided on salmon and wanted the freshest looking piece but was told "I can't reach it."... More

My family and I love stopping in here for their delicious food. Everything is made from scratch. So the aroma lingers all the way outside. The food is delicious but for the price this place is more of a luxury for our family. Cookies cost $1 each to give you an idea. So to save a few bucks we'll eat... More

We've been there for a number of family dinners after weddings. The service is second to none. The food is nice, dependably good, solid, American food. Nothing trendy or ethnic, just great food.

My son and daughter in law got married here and when I came to visit, they wanted to show it to me. I have to say the staff here was incredibly warm and caring. My son explained the situation to them and even though they were setting up for another event, they were happy to let me see the house.... More
