Its an old beat up building but oh my the food is wonderful. We saw it on DDD and were in town visiting grandkids so we gave it a shot. I had breakfast the homemade Hash is heavenly. My wife had the smoked salmon sandwich and it was delightful. The salmon had a subtle smoked flavor which didn't over power... More

We visit the Blue Plate each time we visit our son's family in SLC. The food is always fresh, delicious and plentiful. Great place!

A coworker and I stopped in for breakfast at the Blue Plate Diner while on a trip to Salt Lake City. They were on Diners, Drive In's and Dives a few years back. The food as expected, was delicious and plentiful and our waitress was very friendly and made us some fantastic custom coffee. The place is nothing fancy but... More

Home cooked comfort diner food, lots of veggie and vegan options. Old time diner with a bit of a modern hippie feel. Inclusive atmosphere, something for everyone.

Went in for breakfast and was disappointed with food and service. Absolutely no flavor to any of the food. Service was worse - server very unattentive, dropped our food and never saw her again - couldn't get another cup of coffee, never chewed on our satisfaction and had to chase her down to get bill. Don't understand what the hype... More

We had heard so many good things about this restaurant and finally got around to trying it... it was terrible! If all you want are huge, greasy portions, this place is for you. Otherwise, we thought it was expensive and flavorless. I had the meatloaf that tasted like a bunch of crappy hamburger mixed with ketchup. My daughter had the... More

Blue Plate has a great outdoor seating area that is nice during warm weather. It can be a bit loud because of the adjacent road. The biscuits and gravy is solid as is the green chili smothered omelet or burrito.

We went for breakfast and it was awesome. Our waiter was nice and helpful to our needs/wants. The portions are very good size and the food was very fresh. Limited parking, great place. Will visit again.

Stepping into the Blue Plate Diner is like entering my garage which is adorned with old license plates, tin signs, and other nostalgia, although missing the classic soda fountain (circa 1949). The Blue Plate Diner has the look and feel of diners still scattered along Historic Route 66, including '60s and '70s music blasting from a Rowe AMI jukebox. With... More
