Went to Trio and I want to like it, I really do. We started off with the rosemary flat bread. It came out piping hot, plenty of flat bread but VERY lite on the goat cheese and tomato. There was supposed to be a balsamic...syrup drizzle but it was burnt and stuck to the bottom of the dish. Disappointing. I ordered the scampi and upgraded to the house made pasta, the hub ordered the bolognese again upgrading to house made pasta. The pasta was a mess. It was gummy and clumpy and hard. It was stuck together in big clumps and was WAY undercooked. My scampi was over powered with lemon juice, could taste no garlic and the shrimp were way overcooked, very underwhelming. Hubs bolognese was mediocre, same problem with the pasta. It’s a cute place but they need to up their game and learn how to make and cook homemade pasta.More

My husband and I shared a few small plates, one main course and a dessert. All we’re perfectly prepared. For small plates, we got the meatballs in fresh tomato sauce served with a light and creamy polenta, crispy Brussel sprouts and hazelnuts and grilled cauliflower...with a flavorful pesto sauce. The braised pork with homemade gnocchi was delicious and our sticky date pudding was a perfect finish. All in all a great meal- I’m sorry we haven’t given it a try sooner!More

We were in SLC overnight for an early flight home and came across this restaurant. We arrived at 5:30 on a Friday night and by 6pm it was packed. Excellent food, although limited menu. The flat bread was amazing and necessary as they don’t provide...bread and butter. But well worth it. I had the pasta special and my husband had pasta and meatballs. Both were delicious! Servings are definitely portion size and not to too much, actually the perfect amount. Would highly recommend! Oh and reasonably priced!!More

I've been to this restaurant quite a few times. The food is pretty good and there's a good variety. They had multiple dishes that were gluten/ allergy free. It's a little pricey. And maybe a little harder to feed kids there.

Among the few restaurants in SLC with professional wait staff, nice ambiance, good food, and good value. Finding all four of these attributes in one restaurant in SLC is almost a miracle!

We met friends for brunch over the weekend.. parking was a drop off from main road and comes up fast..restaurant feels a modern and maybe a bit cold when you come in..it’s a concrete odd entry w no one to greet you. We sat in...a booth and ordered hash, Cobb salad and while service was good, it was almost annoyingly good.we wanted to relax and visit and the waitress seemed To be there constantly but then the food came out so far apart ..we had to wait a while for the 2 hot dishes to join salads ..disjointed . Anyway... avo toast was ok..red sauce of some kind was overpowering underneath it...small portion. So many great places to dine in this fun city, not sure this would be on my list.More

We were seated promptly and our waitress was very attentive.. Ordered flatbread trio (olive was good-other two had 0 taste), brussel sprouts (simply boiled-no seasoning or balsamic), spaghetti pomodoro (was cold and virtually tasteless). The only redeeming part of the meal was the beets with...tomato and feta (very good).More
