Providing middle Georgia with one of the best restaurants downtown, we give customers a taste of Asian inspired soul food, with a pinch of Southern flair. The restaurant is located in downtown Macon on the corner of 2nd St. and Poplar St. and allows you to enjoy your meal in a comfortable, upscale environment. The restairant also features a full bar with specialty cocktails, sake and wine. Reservations strongly recommended.

We were excited to try something new after looking at the variety on the menu. We ordered 3 appetizers and 3 entrees to share for 4 people. (2 people took home food for lunch the next day.) The food was amazing! Tempura veggies, crab rangoon, and chicken curry were my favorite. Our server Blaire was informative about menu options, engaging and attentive. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Delicious Ramen

Blaire’s service was excellent. She took the time to connect with us and share her favorites. We tried the Brussels, which were tangy and fresh. Great alternative to a salad. The pickled red onions really set them off. We also loved the Rangoons. We don’t often eat fried foods but these are worth making an exception. The Ramen (we tried both the chicken and the veggie) were complex and memorable. The tofu in the veggie ramen was amazing. It’s hard to describe the layered flavors. The broth for the chicken ramen is creamy/curried. So good. We also had dessert and it was lovely. Toffee bread pudding and a fudge torte. The view is something I didn’t think about beforehand but it’s so pretty all lit up and looking out over Poplar St. Oh, the cocktails are fun too. I recommend the Office Christmas Party. My husband had The Revolver. Can’t wait to return.

What a treat to have Kinjo Kitchen in Macon! We ordered the Chicken Bao, Korean Fried Chicken, White Miso Eggplant, Bibimbap, and, of course, the Sesame Cheesecake. The flavors, the blend of textures, the plating...all are original. Even the names of the mixed drinks are ingenious! Not one thing misses the mark of excellence. I wouldn't eat at any other restaurant in town!

Don't understand the customer service at the Black Cat Speakeasy in Kinjo

I went online and made a reservation for 2 to the downstairs Black Cat speakeasy longue. We were the first ones in when the door opened. We were directed to a small couch under bright lights at the stairs. I communicated to the hostess that we wanted a table and that we had reservations. She refused to let us have a table. A reservation of 10 came in and were seated at tables. Another couple of 2 came in and were seated at another table. Fifteen minutes later, the hostess relented and allowed to let us sit at an empty table out from under the bright lights at the entrance. She was still checking her reservation machine for non-existent people to show up as if my reservation did not count. The place was seated at maybe 50 percent capacity at that point. I had reservations, the same as everyone else. There were multiple empty tables and chairs, and all the barstools were empty. When we left 30 minutes later, there were only 4 people remaining in the whole place in a 30 person seating capacity. We just wanted a table so we would not be under blaring lights. Other than that, the drinks were excellent, as was the music.

Another outstanding dinner here. Literally, one of the best Ribeyes I’ve ever had, and I’m a beef lover. Caramel cheesecake was amazing. Been here a couple of times, and everything we’ve ordered has been excellent. Highly recommend it.

Potential Is There But . . .

An interesting Asian fusion restaurant in Macon. It's menu is somewhat limited, but justifiably given it's Macon. The standouts are its cocktails (the Kinky Wizards is smashing and the Paloma is refined). It also has a solid short list of Japanese whiskies. As for the food, it's OK. The poke was underwhelming, and the avocado in it had a taste of mayo and soap. Strange! As for the roast duck, it was perfect in proportion but it's skin was far too salted. The amount of salt was puckering at time. Service? Mixed. I was seated quickly for my reservation but told multiple times a waiter would come take my order. Meanwhile, a couple sat down a few minutes after me and their server was right on them, taking their drink orders before my server appeared. Again, tho, the drinks are solid. Finally, the atmosphere was fine until the restaurant decided to blast trap music in all its unedited/unbleeped coarseness. That's when I wolfed down my food and bounced, as I don’t sit in the midst of N**** this and N**** that, along with curse that and curse this, in public spaces, especially majority non-Black ones. Yet, no one else seemed to mind. Maybe that's a Macon thing. But it's not my thing. Anyway, this place has great potential.

One of the Most Delicious Meals of my Life

Food, ambiance, and wait staff incredible! Everything was literally perfect from start to finish. -Baos: Korean Hot Chicken is my favorite, but BBQ is delicious too if you’re not a fan of spicy -Munchies: every thing was so yummy. Even the sauces they give you. I didn’t know Rangoons were supposed to taste like that. A whole other level of goodness! The wings were *chef’s kiss* -Veggie Ramen with Tofu: the waiter was super knowledgeable about their different ramen broths. The Tofu was not mushy at all and the flavor was incredible. The soy egg brings it to an entirely different level -Mongolian Beef with Tofu: I am unable to eat beef and I’m not generally a huge fan of Tofu but it was literally perfect. Every bite was scrumptious -Lamb Lollipops: I was a little hesitant to get a $40 entree, but I am so glad I did! They were so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The waiter was not lying when he said they have the best lamb in Macon. I’m not usually a fan of bell peppers, but I could not get enough of the slaw. Potato salad was always such a good combination. -Panna Cotta: the chef’s specialty was like a Mocha cafe deal that night and it literally changed my life. They paired it with fresh fruit and mint leaves, and we left it completely empty -Mochi: the mochi itself was super flavorful, and then add the honey, fresh fruit, and that DELICIOUS sorbet and it was to die for. The Owner took the time to come talk to us and was clearly so passionate about her food and the restaurant. I had ordered the Baos through delivery and they were good, but going in-person and getting the rest of what this wonderful place has to offer was seriously one of the best decisions we could have made. We will be returning time and time again! They have Brunch every 2nd Saturday of the month, so I can’t wait to catch that and enjoy even more heavenly food from this place!
