Service was poor and inattentive, food lacked seasoning, the decor is dated and dinghy and they are overpriced. Other than that it was a good meal Was here with a client and some coworkers. I ordered the center cut ribeye - while cooked properly it had absolutely no seasoning or flavor whatsoever. The green beans were okay (at least they... More

Had the filet! It was cooked perfectly and I could not have been more pleased! Service was very responsive and made the experience even better!

If you're an out-of-town visitor to Macon, just there overnight to see a touring musical, Downtown Grill is not easy to find. You walk down an alley (--the map says "Lane," but it's really an alley), past a Korean pizza place and a Japanese café (closed already that evening), to reach the old two-story brick building which is now Downtown... This place has character - it's been around for decades. The food is very good, suggest the bone in ribeye. The front lounge always cigar smoking. Gregg Allman history. Classic place with great food and service!

Came her for our anniversary and was very impressed. Had the center cut Ribeye, baked potato, grilled broccoli, and cheese grits. Food was very good and so was the service. Make a reservation. Valet parking... Very pricey $$$$$

I read mixed reviews about this restaurant, so I was apprehensive initially. The restaurant is literally well hidden. It is in an historic building in an alleyway near Mulberry and Cherry Streets. As others have said, you walk through a smoking bar to the dining room; but that is not an unpleasant experience. Neither does the smoke smell continue into... More

Great place. Steaks were great and they had some nice items on the menu. I wanted to try more than 1! Location is a little odd as it is in the cross section of alleys off Cherry St (Behind the Rookery) see that review! Very old style classic place. Old warehouse that has a nice old world feel to it.... More

A quaint little eatery off the main road down a small alley nestled among other trendy restaurants. A very limited beer menu with NO draft beer available! The menu, although limited, offered options for everyone.

Traveling it is sometimes hard to find a good restaurant while driving down the freeway, so when my wife picks something out of the blue, the adventure begins. We were treated to a very nice dinner at the Downtown Grill. Food was delicious, portions were all the right size, and the service was attentive and knowledgeable. Prices were good, always... More

This would have been five stars except for the location of the restaurant. The food was delicious and service was perfect. This is as close to a fine dinning experience you will find in Macon or anywhere else for that matter. The only problem was leaving the restaurant and walking to the car. You just do not feel safe in... More

The downtown grill is an English Steakhouse that specializes in prime cut Black Angus steaks, fresh pasta dishes, fish fillets and decadent desserts. This fine dining restaurant also features a well stocked bar that includes a vast array of scotches and bourbons. We also offer an extensive wine list by the glass or by the bottle and a large oak cigar humidor.
