The food at the hotel restaurant was outstanding and really reasonably priced so actually took us quite by surprise. There is a good choice of food and the setting is lovely with the mountains and rolling hills visible from the windows. My only slight complaint would be the slow service with our mess coming out before our drinks.

We ate hear twice because we bought a package deal and both meals were very good. My husbands glass of wine was bad and there was no problem getting another glass. Ask for a table by the window when you reserve. You can wear jeans but it is a nice restaurant.

We ate two evenings in the restaurant and enjoyed both meals but the second evening's chateaubriand was fabulous. The Middle Earth Pinot Noir was also extremely good.

This restaurant is within the Chateau Tongariro and is well worth experiencing during an overnight stay. Booking is essential for beautifully prepared and presented dishes. The service, needless to say, is first class.

Our Chateaubriand was perfect and came with broccoli and very good potatoes. It was a delicious meal!

Excellent meal, completes the Chateau experience. Modern, without being cutting edge. Plays to the audience well. Wine list could do with broader choice - the food and surroundings would carry a better list.

We had a table by the window and although it was very cloudy and raining it didn't matter. The food was excellent and so was the service. We had the celebration package and had a set menu to choose from and it didn't disappoint. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Great, old, quaint and stylish restaurant. Expensive though. Good service! Nothing to put a finger on ...

Old style proper linen, attentive service, and excellent meals. A very happy customer. Just what was needed after a day of mountain fun.

Charming decor, comfortable dining and friendly service. A reasonable menu, delivered with good timing and quite delicious. However, watch the desserts! My panna cotta was more cream than panna cotta adorned with dried raspberries during the height of the fresh raspberry season!! Not good enough I'm afraid.
