I've eaten here a few times now, during lunchtime with a friend of mine. Every time the food has been delicious. I always start with the same thing, the Caldo Verde soup...it a soup made with thin Kale strips, a potato based broth and linguica. Last Time we had the grilled sardines...delicious! The first time we ate here we saw... More

After flying to the Azores from Boston for a vacation in April, we couldn't wait to eat more Azorean food in New England. This was a wonderful place to revisit our favorite menu items and connect with patrons and staff who have Azorean connections. The cod was fantastic- in an appetizer, soup, and main dish- as was the bread. The... More

We asked some friends for a recommendation for a Portuguese restaurant. They had recently tried Mimo's and said it is good food in an unpretentious neighborhood in New Bedford. The area is run down urban in appearance but we felt welcomed and comfortable there. The food is very good. We has Shrimp Chef Style and Steak Micaelense. Both dishes are... More

Terrible, atrocious service on the part of the waitress. I wish I could comment on the food, but it never arrived, so I don't know if it is any good or not. First time visitor to this restaurant and here's my story: We (party of 4) were looking for a Portuguese restaurant before going to a fado music show at... More

This restaurant is a hole-in-the wall restaurant on the very busy Acushnet Avenue in the north end of New Bedford. It is family owned and is decidedly portuguese cuisine. Having said all that, this is in my opinion the best portuguese food in New Bedford and that's saying a lot considering #1 I am portuguese and have eaten at most... More

We were looking forward to some seafood for a late lunch on Father's Day. We found parking right out front on the Avenue. Although the restaurant side was packed at 2:30, we went to the bar side and found a nice high top table next to the bar. Both the manager and our waiter came to greet us and promptly... More

This is the place to eat like regular Portuguese people. The location is not great but the food and service are good. We ordered a ½ carafe of house wine. we split an appetizer.. quahogs bulho pato (spelling is off) Yummy and garlic. We also split a main entree ... Madeira style of beef. Chunks of yummy beef served on... More
