Dunno, but anytime we go there it’s not ready. Walk in after 10+ extra mins, no. Walk in on the dot, no. Not started yet. no matter how slow, never started. Why give customer a time? Just be honest. Last time I wait for then...when I could fuel up right away near house and get meal we like. We know what we want and at DS, order right away too. Sit around waiting our turn and still isn’t there? No sorry, even, “Take (zip) or leave (zip).” Life’s to frakin short, man.. Not Back Eddy.More

I live two blocks away and have come for years. Generally a great bet, especially in terms of value. Recent issue, though, was ordering soup, being late getting there (not my fault), and discovering I was sold the chicken-based soup that had been left sitting...on the counter for hours. I’d apologized for being so late and expected to be charged for two soups, but instead was handed the take-out of an unsafe product. Of course, the owner and the regular day “manager” I usually deal with weren’t there. What tipped me off? The gal who waited on me had apparently expressed surprise at the manager’s taking hold of soup she knew had been sitting out for far too long—contrary to Colin’s clear policy. He hissed back, “I’m not handing out extra servings here,” as though he owned the place! Maybe they’d run out of this version of chicken soup, but the least he could have done was admitted that. Besides, there’s no reason to ever leave a container of soup out for over an hour! I told him I took exception with his verdict, and added that I’d fully expected to have to pay for another serving if the container had sat out for too long and had to be tossed. He hadn’t even tried to reheat my serving in a fresh container—not that that would’ve rendered the product safe. The guy, who was on the short side and slim, with dark, curly hair, rather grudgingly served up a new portion. Then, without blinking, he told me the price for two and handing up both of “my” unmarked, identical containers. I was so miffed by that, which I considered a particularly spiteful gesture, that I told him flatly, “Pitch the risky one.” Then I watched, surprised, as he touched both cartons, trying to figure out which was older. His helper stepped forward, reaching for the first one and double-checking for warmth, and assured him, “It’s this one.” It was all I could do not to roll my eyes: talk about the wrong way to show a rookie the ropes! When I got home, which was literally a two-block walk, I noticed that the fresh soup wasn’t hot, even though the temperature that night was north of 60. It seems this manager had started his clean-up before I got there, so that the pot had already been transferred to the walk-in. Granted, I arrived some 20 minutes before closing, but Colin has always been admirably fastidious in maintaining the temperature of any soup he chooses to serve, for safety’s sake. As an aside, I have two other requests. I wish they didn’t mash the “grilled”-cheese sandwiches à la panini. It wrecks the bread’s texture. These used to be the absolute-best grilled-cheese sandwiches anywhere. And, as ever since they opened, I wish their great selection of cold beverages we’re available with ice. It does wonders for a great soda!More

I've been coming to Destination soups for may years now, even when i loved over 50 miles away at one point. I always made it a point to make it down once and a while to grab some yummy soup or sandwiches. My favorite seasonal...soup here is gazpacho soup! Its amazing and they only serve it during the warm seasons, as its a cold soup! But all their soups are great and they have great sandwiches too. Great vibes from staff and everyone seems pretty chill every time i go in!More

Destination Soups is the best place to get homemade soup. Their tomato basil with a grilled Rick Cheese sandwich is out of this world. The staff is friendly and the service is great.

Who knew this tucked away hole in the wall could be so delish. Who knew you could rock a grilled cheese like this. I've been making grilled cheese for decades, literally, but never like this.

I rarely leave reviews but I am so grateful for Destination Soups for going above and beyond excellent customer service. I was out of the state and needed some fantastic, comfort food delivered to my Dad who was in the hospital. The folks at Destination...Soups took the time to deliver well outside their normal delivery area and made our day. The world needs more people who not only make great food but go out of their way to help others. Grilled cheese and soup and sandwiches that rock!More

Crazy as it sounds I rarely get the soup here, though when I do it's always very good. No, the main reason I come is for the sandwiches. They are always so tasty, come out quickly, and are more than fairly priced. That and you...can sit outside or inside, and small as it is, their staff works tirelessly to provide great service.More

Really great food. I love soups, so it's nice to have a place that has a variety. If I had one critique, it would be that I can only make it in the evenings because I work out of the area, and they are almost...always out of all soups but 2 or 3 of their main options. I'd love to be able to try their specials, but never get a chance!More

Interesting and tasty soups and sandwiches at a reasonable price. If I spent more time in downtown New Bedford, I'd be there all the time.
