Fun restaurant with gorgeous views. We were 3 couples and got an outrageous table over the water. It was breathtaking. We all agreed but food strange. I ended up with a salad as an entree. Fish is ok lots of noodle bowl things. I was very disappointed down to the dessert. Service good 😊 but food just very different. We... More

Our dinner here was good, but not quite up to the restaurant's billing. I probably would give it a 5 except our waiter was sort of overbearing, and the place was really loud. The hamachi carpaccio with celery and ginger ice was interesting. For entrees we tried the crispy mahi mahi, which was very good, as well as the butcher's... More

We ate there last week as a party of 6. The venue is very impressive, with natural wood everywhere and surrounded by water, with ocean view. There service was friendly, but very slow, for all courses, even dessert, where we had to ask when it was coming. We had to send several drinks back to correctly serve Vodka instead of... More

I've tried and tried to say it: Humuhumunukunukuapua'a Restaurant. It's a vowel movement. The hotel is amazing, the setting and area are beautiful. The food is great if not over the top creative. The coolest think ever is the Lobster pool with hundreds crawling around. They crank a crank that lifts the wire bottom, exposing the lobsters so you can... More

The chef was rated number 1 on the island. Ate there with high expectations. Menu is very limited and food was "ok" but I hoped for so much more.

We stayed at the Grand Wailea and ate at Humuhumu. The atmosphere and setting made our dining experience a memorable one. The fresh catch and seasonings were expected but the staff was everything we could have asked for. I highly recommend a stop for dinner.

Humu is the oceanfront restaurant at the Grand Wailea Resort, seemingly floating above a koi pond and overlooking the ocean, west Maui, and smaller faraway Hawaiian islands. It has a classically Polynesian look, with thatched roofs and bamboo, while still avoiding a tacky tiki bar feel. At night it's beautifully lit with torches. The food was spectacular. We had the... I can here with a group of co-workers for dinner on a Saturday night. It was our last dinner in Hawaii, and it had come very highly recommended. We made reservations for 6:45 p.m. We arrived at 6:45 p.m. and were told that our table was not ready because the rain had gotten on the table. It had been raining... More

We came here twice on your trip and am torn between pretty good and great. Pros- you can't beat the views having a water surrounding you with a view of the ocean (until sunset), nice selection of appetizer options (definitely get the scallops or poke). Cons- service seemed a little extra slow than it needed to be, especially when it... More

My wife and I stay at the Grand Wailea every year (16th stay at the resort). In the past the service and food has been mediocre. We usually pass on dinner at this restaurant when at the resort but, we thought we would try it again since they remodeled and supposedly improved the menu. Well we were pleasantly suprised by...
