The restaurant is in a beautiful setting. There is a lovely view of the sunset. The staff are very knowledgeable, nice but a bit officious. The food choices are lovely and very well prepared. We had the caprese salad, the fish special, the spaghetti, and the risotto. The food is extremely well prepared and well presented. It is very tasty.... More

Had a great meal here. Waiter was quite knowledgeable and gave us just enough attention. He suggested an interesting and unusual wine. Can be a bit breezy and cool in the winter, so bring a jacket. They moved a heater for us, which saw us through.

My husband and I had dinner here last night and were extremely impressed with our meal. As I said in my title, it was absolutely exquisite, rivalling almost every meal we have had in months. For appetizers, we shared the campachi crudo and the Tamimi farms tomatoes - both were divine and so flavorful; the crudo virtually melted in the... More

From start to finish, an excellent service. Perfectly executed service. Our waiter, Mark was fantastic, profesional and very knowledgeable. The rest of the team further emphasized the fine dining experience. The lamb was probably the best I have ever had. Easy to navigate menu of all fantastic looking cuisine made it easy to select our dishes. Get the damn Chocolate... More

Fine dining at it's finest!!! My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon so we wanted a nice quiet evening together. We were sat on the balcony overlooking the hotel with a wonderful view. The waitstaff was attentive but not pushy. We started with the Kampachi Crudo and the Black Truffle Rissotto both were excellent. For our main course I... More

This restaurant has a lovely setting, although given that the reservation was later in the evening, you can't see the lovely view over the hills to the ocean. However, the food was good. Appetizers were very tasty, and the Ahi and Beef Filet were very good. Cioppino, which the restaurant is known for, was quite good, although I felt somewhat... More

We hadn't been here since it was still Capische, but thought the food was fantastic. So good we came back the next week and it didn't disappoint. Atmosphere is unbeatable. Very convenient valet parking. Great service from Ben on both nights.

The first thing I looked at was the wine list. It should have been the biggest tip off that this was going to be pricey. I don't mind high prices, but u better give me incredible service. The restaurant had maybe 6 tables filled and 3 waiters. You would think with that ratio we would see our waiter all the... More

We stayed at this resort for 10 days & at ate at the restaurant most mornings & 2 evenings. The breakfast service was slow & the menu repetitive, but the food was good although very expensive. For dinner the service is quite good, the food is very good, but again the most expensive of anywhere we ate. We were disappointed... More

From our home in NJ, ten weeks previous, we reserved a special Thanksgiving Dinner in the "Garden" for our family of 8 and it was confirmed for 6:30. We arrived at 6 pm to be met by a surly bartender, were told there was no Garden seating available and escorted to a table with no ambiance or view. 8 people... More

Description
Hawaii's first and only Relais & Chateaux restaurant, The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea (formerly known as Capische?) offers a European-inspired elegance infused with creative island-to-table cuisine. Menus are created around what is readily available from Maui’s own farms and fisherman ensuring that each dish is prepared using only the finest local, seasonal and artisanal products; including those grown in the restaurant’s own garden and farming operation.

From its perch on the hillside above South Maui's Wailea resort area, the restaurant offers sweeping panoramic ocean views from the upper lanai and intimate dining under the stars in the garden.
