I was hesitant to come here because I thought it was a typical "upscale pub with bad food". Boy, was I wrong! Both times we have been here, we had exceptional food!!!! The haddock is extremely fresh and they have some great local cheese and meats. The haddock burger is SO GOOD!! Seriously. So, my thoughts on Lane's has changed... More

We were travelling around N.S. and my husband said next on his bucket list was a good bowl of seafood chowder. We noticed Lane's Privateer Inn was on the "Chowder Trail" so we figured it must be good. It was. He loved it. charming little place to eat Staff was friendly The place seemed to have tourists eating here Stopped... More

This place has a lot of charm and is located on the river. The Inn is very old circa 1800s, and you will find lots of history and uneven floors that add that charm. You will have squicky stairs and narrow hallways. There is part that looks like modern addition, but we have stayed in original inn. It was surprisingly... More

Charming decor, pretty views and a tasty meal. I had the Captains Choice (haddock and clams) and it was wonderful. Warm biscuits to start were a great touch!

We had the cream of mushroom soup and seafood chowder. Both were very tasty. The fish burger I had was also very good. For the money we spent, I would give it a 4.5 star, however, the wait time was a little long, this reduced to 4 star.

Whether you are wanting a traditional breakfast, fish cakes or a"benny" dish, Lanes serves up a great breakfast that won't disappoint. The toast is made from their house baked bread.

We had a lovely dinner in this quaint dining room. There was a wedding reception happening at the hotel at the same time and the staff made every effort to make sure we received our food in a timely manner and answered any questions we had, The food was moderately priced and very tasty.

We tried the chowder which was ok. We had friendly and fast service. Really love their homemade bread to take home. Enjoy sitting outside on the patio overlooking the water.

Well I gotta say I am very disappointed with the service and the food. First a hateful waitress sat us and then said it would be 45 minutes for service. We weren't in a hurry but when the table behind us got menus and drinks we grumbled. Git drinks had our order taken. Chowder sucked mostly potatoes, the biscuits had... More

Hello Shelley We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good dining expereince with us. Canada Day was an extraordinarily busy day and we feel that it is important to tell diners that there may be a wait before they are seated. We take your comments about the chowder seriously as we are known for our seafood... More
