Best Tamales on the Mississippi

Great Tamales and quick, friendly service. I tried the Gringo Pie and it was very good. This is our traditional lunch stop on our way to New Orleans. We have been eating here for many years and never been disappointed.

Fat Mama's has the best tamales of anywhere i know. We always make it our first stop in Natchez, Mississippi and we usually get some frozen ones to take home as well.

Passing through town and stopped in here for lunch base on the local reviews. Can't say much about the margaritas since we didn't try them, but the tamales where very basic and for all practical purposes, the only thing on the menu. The tamales only come in a beef/pork blend and you can either have 1/2 dozen plain ones or... More

After a busy day of touring and mid afternoon hunger hits you, come to Fat Mama's for a Knock you Naked Margarita and Tamales. Sit outside enjoy the beautiful scenery of historic Natchez and enjoy the good food.

I love a good margarita and they certainly have them. I don't like tamales, but hubby gave me a bite of his topped with chili (Gringo Pie) and I'm a convert now. Very tasty! The Lemon Box Pie is delicious. Yummy pickles too. They have a nice patio but the music was blaring, so we chose to eat inside, which... More

We stopped in Fat Mama's Tamales one evening. It's like fast food, ordering at the counter. The tamales were delicious. The chile is meaty. You can get a plate with tamales with chile on top.

The service was friendly and the atmosphere is fun and the beer was ice cold. The nachos were some store bought chips with a sprinkle of shredded cheese and some jarred presliced jalapeños--not impressed. It's all about the tamales here and I wasn't crazy about those either.
