Met a friend for lunch, a bit loud, but attentive waitstaff and excellent lunch menu. Great harbor views and a nice variety of salads, seafoods and Italian fare on the menu.

If you want the nicest servers with the best food this place is for you. I recently discovered this place (after living in Marin my whole life) and it’s now my staple happy hour spot. The happy hour prices are great, especially for Marin, and...the food / drink are fantastic. And again I really can’t stress how wonderful the staff is. I had Cinnamon last night and Tino the time before, and you really could not ask for more attentive, friendly servers. The manager also always remembers my name and says hello. I have been raving to anyone that will listen about this place!More
It started with unnecessary valet parking for the parking lot right in front. To self park, you had to go to the lot next door. The unfriendly waitress refused any substitutions in the dishes, cutlery was not changed between courses, food was placed randomly on...the table and was far too salty. The chicken was ok, but overly spiced and floating in fat. A couple of years ago we had a wonderful experience hete, but we think they have badly slipped. PityMore
Stopped to have a very late lunch and the food was awesome. We we’re the only two people there but the initial server did not make an effort. I was surprised. The second shift person was a little better. We weren’t locals so we could...tell they didn’t really care. Food was great.More
This is not a small intimate restaurant, but it has wonderful views and the pasta is consistently good. I've been going here with family for years, and always enjoy whatever I order. Especially nice at sunset!
Granted, based on my previous review I hadn't been back in quite some time. I noticed, perhaps in an attempt to improve the service the menu has become quite a bit smaller, while still offering more than enough choices. They used to offer pasta dishes...in two sizes at two prices, that is gone. Only one price and one size and that price is noticeably higher. As are all the items on the menu and wine list. (I am sure that a portion is due to new government rules.) These changes have improved the service efficiency, not the skill set.More
Traffic was so bad that I stopped here on my way home to wait out the traffic. I decided to have dinner. I enjoyed the Flat iron steak with romesco, roasted potatoes, and Brussels sprouts (it comes with broccoli but the server granted my request...to substitute Brussels sprouts). The server’s recommendation of a glass of Baldassari wine from Russian River Valley was a good choice. It went well with my meal. For dessert, I enjoyed vanilla gelato with salted caramel sauce. Many locals come here. I saw them enjoying conversations with the staff.More
One of the few Mill Valley restaurants open on Thanksgiving Day. We had a lovely traditional turkey dinner during a stunning sunset on the water. It demonstrates Piatti's ability to provide for her clientele no matter the season or occasion.
Noisy and expensive. Not my ideal combination for an evening out. Service was just so so and at this price I shouldn’t have to ask for fresh silverware for the next course or request a soup spoon when soup is being served. Valet parking is...complimentary if there are no free spaces on the street or next door, but tipping the valet is expected. Add it all up and my share of the evening was $75 for an appetizer that I split with my companion and an overcooked, oily piece of fish and vegetables. No coffee or dessert, and my friend had one glass of wine. Not coming back any time soon, sorry. It’s just not that good a value.More
Walked from our nice hotel (Aqua) around the corner. This is a lovely authentic Italian restaurant where it appeared that most of the people were regulars and locals. I had the muscles with linguine and it was outstanding. The waiter had worked there for many...years and was just the nicest man. I will certainly go to Piatti every time that I am in Mill ValleyMore
