The $1 oysters before 6pm are a big attraction but that is only a small part of the appeal of Bungalow 44. Food & service are great and so is the atmosphere! Well worth a visit or two or three!

We had dinner here last night and as always, everything was perfect: food, drinks, ambiance, waitstaff and dining experience. I diverted from ordering the ahi tuna salad to digging into a delish burger and fries. Partner enjoyed oysters and grilled flatbread with figs, prosciutto, and goat cheese. We have tried every dessert item on menu and they are all outstanding.... More
This place is worth many visits to try all their surprises. We often go for happy hour where they have $1 oysters from 5-6pm. While we enjoyed that treat we discovered they have fried chicken buckets to go. You can get mashed potatoes as a side. Can say enough about this alternative to KFC. We love the oyster/chicken treat.
So I walked around Mill Valley and selected this place because it was lively enough, fancy enough and looked less formal than some places without being low brow. Food was great and fresh- place was full but there was a good space to eat at the bar where I got to talk to some people when I was dining alone.... More
Pretty full for weekday evening. Confused atmosphere inside: there's a sports bar; and a dining area and a dining bar facing kitchen --all in one very dark and noisy room. Ribeye good but overpriced, fried chicken ok but pls tell chef its missing something...it comes with mash (mine were cold) and cold slaw...but I think the fish needs some kinda... More
Happening local spot. Great decor. Great food and cocktails. It is loud and happy place with a sports TV going near the bar. It's theme is California Arts and Crafts style or CA bungalow look is very comfortable and attractive. The waitstaff are great, the cocktails delicious and the specials terrific. Kickin' fried chicken, or ask for coffee-crusted steak (not... More
A last minute dining-out decision led to a pleasant surprise. This bar/restaurant had a hopping boisterous bar scene at six in the evening, with a comfortable but noisy adjacent dining area. Service was attentive. Wine list covered the California scene well. Menu was interesting with several novel items present. I had a beautifully presented tuna carpaccio that tasted as good... More
Friends took us here, and we were delighted with the food! Nice ambience, good hearty menu, and well prepared food. Would definitely eat here again. The short ribs are heaven!
Get there early for a more quiet dining experience. Busy bar at night. Dining area is not large and can get crowded with wait times. Food is always very good.
We have been eating at Bungalow 44 for more than ten years and this was our last time. The bread from Panorama Baking is good. Our server, Christina, was great. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. We ordered the same dishes we have had over the years and they were terrible tonight. The chopped salad was not really chopped. There were... More
