Come here often for brunch, always a good experience. Typical American brunch - omelettes, pancakes, French toast. Friendly service, keep plying you with coffee (which however could be better). A reliable place to go for a bite.

Honestly, we've been here twice in five years and each time, we say never again. While never having had the rude, haughty French waiter experience in France, one can certainly get it here. And the food is mediocre at best, sorry to say.

We have been coming to Balboa for years to get a quick burger after a movie. It was fine for that, but not much else... Until now. I think I read about a new chef, and I have to say it really shows. Even the green dinner salad is suddenly terrific. I had the crab risotto -- very good, but... More

We have our favorite waiter "Mark" here. He has taken great care of us for many years and is a delight to have serve us. The food is consistent and the menu is not large but just enough to keep everyone's pallet happy. Drinks are good and ambience can be a little noisy especially if there is a game on... More

I thought the food here was very nice, and the wine was priced right. Nothing exceptional, but a go to spot. The service was quite good.

My twin and I celebrated Valentine's Day at the Balboa and 1st thing I noticed as I walked in was a friendly waiter who was busy serving tables on a busy night. He was so friendly and greeted us right away, was happy to listen to us change our mind several tims and was overall very sincere which is refreshing.... More

Balboa Cafe has always had good food. Now, with the new chef, the food is great. The old standbys, like the burger, have been upgraded! However, the "best" of Balboa is the staff!!!! 5 star all the way. Megan makes us feel welcome - and makes great suggestions for dinner. Andrew makes sure the wine and ice tea keep flowing... More

Balboa Cafe is a local gem with a great bar and wine list. Traditional white table cloths throughout the booths and tables for a finer dining experience. Very knowledgable and friendly waitstaff. They know the food and are proud to serve it. Whatever you do, save room for dessert the chocolate pudding is out of this world.

Balboa Cafe is conveniently located in Downtown Mill Valley. The wine list is a great bargain with good wine that is not marked up. If you like a cheeseburger, this is go to item. Soups change daily. Good service. Sitting at the bar also a good option if you want to watch a sporting event on TV with the sound... More

Lunch and Dinner have wide selection of food. Group of 4 at Lunch each had something different, and each plate, salad, sandwich, soup, pasta was delicious. Lunch prices are very very reasonable. It's an old world kind of design and very attractive upscale looking and feeling. Service very professional, yet friendly.
