Given the lack of dining options near the Paradise side of Mount Rainier National Park, Wildberry was a positive experience for our family. They feature both solid portions and a kid-friendly menu. It was obvious that the employees value the restaurant's reputation: they worked hard...and were articulate and kind. The Mount Everest expedition info is an added bonus! (The owner is a sherpa who has summited Everest 15 times!) My only negative from the experience was the cost per meal (a bit steep in my opinion), but I recognize that supply and demand in a touristy region will factor into that.More

I had the stew and it was wonderful. The staff were very nice and friendly. I even bought a wool hat. I highly recommend this place.

On a cold rainy night, we decided to try Wildberry and it was one of the highlights of our whole trip to Rainier. Humble and unassuming exterior, but food was delicious and hit the spot. Had the sherpa stew and chicken thali - best comfort...food you could ask for. Service was friendly, cozy atmosphere, showcasing Nepalese culture and the climbing accomplishments of the owner who holds the world record for fastest ascent up the south face of Everest! Mind blown that he was just casually serving diners. Half museum, half restaurant. A true experience.More

After a long day at Mt Rainier, we found this Indian restaurant just outside and were excited to have some comfort food. Unfortunately, the food was really mediocre. Outdoor seating was really nice. Service was alright.

There are only a very few restaurants in Ashford, Washington. We became tired of exploring the trails around Mt.Rainer, and were driving down to Ashford in search of a good restraint. After a few minutes drive from the entrance gate to the Mt.Rainer, we saw...hotel ‘Wild Berry’ on our left. The ambience of ‘Wild Berry’ is totally Himalayan. On one corner the climbing suit and the climbing gears of a Himalayan Sherpa is exhibited. I felt I was in a restaurant at the base camp of Mt. Everest! The food they served here is not American, continental etc. but purely Nepalese. The quality of the food was good and for a few $ s you the chef of Wild Berry’’ was successful in creating a feeling of transporting us to Nepal from the USA.More

We really enjoyed our Nepalese dinner and pie a la mode! We also liked meeting Lhakpa Gelu, who owns the Guiness Worlk Record for the fastest ascent up Mt. Everest!

Loved trying the Sherpa stew and enjoyed eating in the outdoor dining area. Great option for dinner in September in Ashford/Mt Rainier area as many places start closing for the season. Enjoyed eating here. They seemed to offer a varied menu so something for everyone...even if you just wanted a burger and fries.More

The food was very good and the service was excellent. The best option to avoid the in-park food at Paradise Inn. Very worth the drive just outside park.

What a gem, to find such excellent Himalayan food right outside Mt Rainier's gates! Highly recommend the Sherpa Stew, Samosas, Pork Momo, and Chicken Thali. We liked it so much, we went 2 days in a row. Fast, courteous service. Outdoor space was cozy despite...the rain.More

This restaurant is close to the southwest entrance of Mt. Ranier NP and offers a museum like experience with the owners exhibit of mountain climbing gear. Plus you can try Himalayan dishes like the yummy Chicken Thali and Pork Momo. Both were delicious and very...reasonably priced.More

An excellent find! We weren't sure where to go for dinner outside the park, but when we passed this little place we thought it was cute and decided to stop. So glad we did! An adorable find and the food was great. The owner is...Nepalese, so they have Himalayan dishes and American dishes, both which were fantastic - the chickpea curry/dish was very filing. Service was great and they were doing a solid job of keeping up with the crowd that came in after us, it filled up quickly after 5pm. Plus if you go here, you'll learn something *very* special about the owner! I won't give it away!More
