We dropped in based on all of the positive reviews. Service was below average - too long for service and too long for order delivery. We were outside on the patio, which has plastic patio furniture. I guess that makes sense, but not for a...More

To be generous, the dining options at the gateway towns to Mt. Rainier NP have been "adequate". The Wildberry restaurant has been around for 30+ years but was mainly known for its pies. But now the restaurant is being run by a group of Nepalese...More

We were delighted to visit Wildberry Restaurant, just a few miles west of the Nisqually Entrance to Mt. Rainier. I had their filling Sherpa Stew while my wife had their Tali meal with dal and a dish comparable to Channa Masala (chickpea). We both had...More

Good reviews baffle me. Even the pie was just okay. Overpriced for a really small piece, and tasted like a frozen grocery store pie.

We ate here for supper and the portions are huge. Everyone very nice and service is great. There is a very small dining room so try to go early you won’t be disappointed.

What a surprise to find this excellent Himalayan/American diner miles from anywhere - but just across from our hotel, Alexanders Lodge. I had the Balti the first night and it was a wonderful platter of soup, little nibbly things and main course. A complete meal....More

This is a good and casual restaurant. We ordered the stew and it was marvelous. It was a bit chilly that night and we were happy to have something warm and nutritious to eat.

We had dinner here while staying in Ashford. We wanted something easy and this place fit that nicely. Pleasant patio to sit at, efficient service with great food at reasonable prices. Nothing fancy, menu isn't extensive; but if you have spent a long day on...More

Description
This restaurant closes during off-season(Mid October through April). Under new management. One of the few restaurants (or at least decent ones) near the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. Currently owned by a renowned mountain climber, Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa. Lhakpa (owner) has climbed Mt. Everest 15 times, and also holds the record for the fastest ascent of Mt. Everest in 10 hours 56 minutes and 46 seconds. Wildberry serves both traditional American Mountain Menu (burgers, sandwich, Salads, fish n fries, chicken strips etc.) as well as authentic Sherpa-Himalayan food (steamed Himalayan style dumplings- Momo, stew, Thali, etc.) from Tibet & Nepal.
