We ate here recently. Service was great, very friendly. Food was OK, Nepalese food is similar to Indian though not at all spicy. I had a very good dinner salad, not Nepalese at all, food did accommodate vegetarians, my husband had a chicken Thali dish...which was just OK. He's been to Nepal, isn't crazy about the food (just so-so) Good beer seleciton.More

I feel bad that they don’t have enough staff, but the guys there are very hard working. We got there at 7pm and had to wait an hour until we got food. If you don’t like Sherpa food, you can order burgers. All good.

The place offers both American and Nepali food; Vegan and meat options; and indoor and outdoor seating. The food is quick once you order. The restaurant had a smaller corner of the places that was like a museum for the owner that climbed Mt Everest...in the fastest amount time. It is worth checking out his climbing gear and reading how many summits he had done. Staff was friendly. The restaurant offered for sale handmade items from Nepal. We recommend getting there early since the place gets packed later in the day. We couldn't get into the restaurant the first night at the park, so we got there early the next day.More

Comfortable atmosphere and the service was fantastic. The food was amazing, very traditional. We visited here on our last night in Ashford after an incredibly challenging day of hiking and it was the perfect way to end our visit to the park.

Part of our 25th wedding anniversary was to get away from it all and try new things, explore etc... This place was no exception and appealed to our international curiosity for food. Unexpected in a good way, different ambiance, good attentive service. Loved the glass...water bottles at the table. Food was excellent and varied for the international or American taste buds. Dumplings were good, Sherpa stew was wonderful. Curry can be spicy so was careful of it but need not have worried. The stew had a lot of carrots in it but as this was the first time I had eaten Sherpa I don't know if that is supposed to be that way or not. Either way, I liked both the Sherpa and Dumplings.More

We went here after a long hike at Mt. Rainer, it was perfect after a long rainy day. We got the sherpa stew and the chicken curry, i would definitely recommend getting either of those. Service was great and it was a very cool find....I enjoyed looking at all the displays they had on the walls about climbing!More

Our motel mgr highly recommended Wildberry. Check on days when they are open. We had the Sherpa stew which had that wonderful homemade blend of flavors. We were told get the PIE. Yep, the pie was wonderful. Folks at nearby tables had burgers and fries...which were reported to be excellent and good size portions. Simple decore. A mix of Tibet type photos and artifacts and Mt Ranier. They had a full size model of high altitude expoloring that the kids might like. We might have gone back a second day when we ran into a restaurant that had staffing issues and were turning people away....but shucks, they were closed that day.More

We had a fantastic meal that was pleasantly unexpected, and ended up returning another night. The Sherpa stew is the best and worth a try. Our kids gobbled the cheeseburger. Maybe the best part was the story of the family and restaurant, plus all the...Everest memorabilia. Super neat!More

What an amazing gustatory delight! Our tastebuds were dazzled by the combination of a sensory journey into the Nepalean spices the chef used. I had the channa thali that was absolutely spectacular. Thali is a traditional Nepali plate that gets its name from the dish...it is served in a Thali or a platter. The meal includes curry, rice, Nepali Bread, mixed Pickle, Mixed Veggies and a bowl of lentil soup. It was delightful! Additionally there is a great story behind the restaurant. The owner, Lhakpa Gelu holds the world speed climbing record for Mt. Everest, a mountain he has summited 15 times. His wife is the brilliant chef and it's a wonderful family owned operation. We highly recommend it, though it may be closing for the season....More

If traveling up the western entrance to Mt. Rainier and your hunger is building, do stop at the Wildberry. It has what was for me a truly unusual menu, one blending Nepalese and American food. We sat outside in the covered area. Except for the...occasional car heading up to the park, it was wonderfully quiet. Service was quick and efficient. The food itself was warm and filling, just the thing for a day spent hiking the mountain. Do give it a try.More

We enjoyed trying the Nepalese food, and the large covered seating area made us feel very safe from COVID. Wonderful blueberry pie! We went there twice during the three evenings we were in Ashford.

What a fabulous restaurant! You would not expect this quality of food, selection and the unique opportunity to try something new. We really loved the samosas - complex, spicy, crispy and piping hot. The chicken thali was a platter containing curry that was fragrant and...delicious. They also offer salads and burgers/fish tacos. Service is speedy quick. Reasonable prices. Blackberry pie a la mode to top it off. Don’t miss it!More
