Visited the pub on a Saturday about 5pm. Very big pub, old thatched roof. Chef and Brewer chain. Has restaurant area and plenty of other comfortable seating for casual drink. Large patio area and garden. My wife and I sat in 2 large comfy armchairs for drinks and had a starter and sweet potatoes fries and triple cooked chips. Very... More

We decide to visited this pub on the way home from London looked quite a nice location on a summers evening. Unfortunately the service we received let it down immensley. We waited to be seated at a table for nearly ten minutes as they seemed to be only one person at the bar rather surprising for a pub this size.... More

It was lovely sitting outside in the sunshine after a 5 mile walk to the pub. That was a bonus. The fish was superb... piping hot, lovely crispy batter, thick piece of fish inside... delicious.. the chips and peas were only luke warm, the peas very dry, which was a shame and I had to ask for sauces, they weren't... We arrived for an early evening meal straight from work at around 17:30 to an eerily empty pub. Eventually someone appeared from somewhere and after seating us, promptly brought our ordered drinks. We ordered our meals and as the only starter order was for me I ate it and my empty plate was ready to be whisked away by around... More

Lovely place to visit with friends or family. Food is lovely. The Sunday lunch menu is really good, especially the rib of beef. Not so good for a quiet romantic meal as a bit too bustling, busy and noisy. Great to have a stroll from Sawbo or Stortford along the river and stop for a drink there as well.

had a great evening meal here. Vast menu choice and everything was available. I had the Beef & Ale pie and it was very good at not a bad price for the London area.

This pub was not so good the last time we visited it some time ago. Now it has been improved. The service is vastly improved, we were warmly greeted when we arrived and quickly seated. Service for menus and drinks was prompt and for the three of us the food arrived in good time. Curiously we all had the same!... More

Came along on Wednesday night. Have been a few times now and alway had good food and atmosphere here. Was busy but the two staff looked after us very well and were friendly and attentive. Will be back very soon I'm sure!
