Been here with office colleagues during a business trip. We had some calamari for starter. Unfortunately they were floating on a sauce they took out the nicest thing of crispy calamari. Then we had the Jambalaya. Was ok, so hot that it was clear to...be warmed on the microwave. Really not nice. Good service. You need to take your wine, but this is ok, means you spend lot less than other restaurantsMore

Been at Chef Freddy's many times and it always exceeds high expectations. Several good friends dine there weekly and for good reason. Wide array of tasty meat, fish, poultry & vegetarian selections with rotating unique appetizers, entree specials and satisfying desserts. Ample servings and priced...competitively for the high quality delivery and nice dining atmosphere. One of the very few places to enjoy octopus, ostrich or bison but you can have a great steak, chop or fish dish. Had the Chilean Sea Bass my most recent visit and it was excellent. Owners and service staff extremely professional, friendly and rightfully proud. As a BYOB you can have an exceptional meal with your favorite wine or cocktail without a huge bar bill. Definitely a TOP 3 restaurant in the Morristown area right near the Green in the center of town and across the street from the Hyatt RegencyMore

This was my first time there…loved it! I got the Vegan’s Corner entree and it was out of this world! I can’t stop thinking about it…I checked lots of other restaurants and nobody seems to have anything like this for vegans. I can’t wait to...go back!More

I seldom post a review of a restaurant where I've dined only once - and usually to say something negative. Not this time. My meal at Chef Fredy's was absolutely amazing. The menu alone prepared me for a serious dining experience. My spouse and I...are foodies and pretty good cooks. We look at a menu and think, "Can I prepare that at home?" The menu was a series of "no; that's beyond me." Then came the specials ... We started with the most amazing gazpacho I've ever tasted (a special): flavors I've never encountered before; I'd have asked for the recipe but we probably couldn't have duplicated it anyway. Next the asian tuna tartare appy (menu) that again transcended the ordinary. Main was venison (a special), in a thin mushroom crust that defies description. Others at our table - mostly foodies like us - were equally impressed with everything they enjoyed. Fredy's Table is BYOB, and we did, and that saved a bit of money. If you're going - and please do - check out the menu and come equiped with appropriate pairings. They'll still work if you order specials. The service is very pleasant and knowledgeable: the waitstaff can explain any dish in detail down to the ingrdient sourcing. Great food takes a bit of time, so relax and savor each course. Decor is quiet and tasteful. Parking is available across the street. Prices are in keeping with the quality of the cuisine, but not as high as one pays in Manhattan for similar quality ... if you can find it, and there are very few places where you will. The chef came to our table after dinner. We congratulated him, and we meant it. Make a reservation - and go; just go.More

Two couples gathered at this off the beaten path place inn downtown Morristown. Table cloths and wine glasses. BYOB if you want alcohol. The menu is full of variety. Ask your server about the specials for a number of fresh items not on the regular...menu. Dishes we loved: Baked Brie, Calamari, Paella, Buffalo strip loin, Jambalaya. Dishes we would not order again: Squash Blossoms, Pappardelle Pasta, ( they weren't bad, just not our favorites. Waiter Isaiah was great.More

Visited 05/24/2021 Lots of great restaurants in Mo-Town. We were recommended Chef Fredy's and it turns out to be a great recommendation for the 5 of us. Great ambiance with fast and friendly service. Along with that, it's a BYO, so that's always a great...start. Between the 5 of us we had either octopus or tuna tartar for appetizers. No complaints from anyone. I had the tuna tartare and have to say I liked this better than the piece of octopus that my wife shared with me. Not bad... but I was glad I ordered the TT. Same kind of deal with the entrees. 3 had the duck breast which could have used another minute or 2 on the grill... according to the wife. 2 of us had the Creole style jambalaya with shrimp and scallops. We both raved about this dish. Nice and spicy... as good a jambalaya as I've had anywhere, even in New Orleans. Looking forward to trying some of the other interesting appetizers and entrees on the menu.More

Chef Frdy's Table. The quality of food at this place is excellent and the customer service is even better. Fantastic place to celebrate any occasion or just to eat at a place with an very good ambiance and very good social distance, where the staff looks...very happy taking care of you. I had the pleasure to meet with Freddy and Nestor. And obviously you can tell they are leaders in the industry. Best of all, it was my wife's birthday and she was VERY HAPPY. Thank you.More

I went here with some of my coworkers and an insurance company when they walked in the door the service was top notch. The food was over the top even the people that do not like seafood love the tuna and the calamari which was...amazing my main course was the short ribs which are always one of my favorites the awesome boko is also amazing and the creativity and the presentations that chef ready and his staff provide is a piece of art. 1 of my good to restaurants in northern New Jersey check it out next time for great service and amazing foodMore

Overall, enjoyed my meal here, but this place could be so much more. Very noisy for a fine dining establishment, and the menu is a bit too ambitious (ostrich, really?) My pork chop was way too tough, especially since it was a stuffed with brie;...mentioning it to server was met with no answer. Our calamari appetizer was superb, as was the pear salad. And desserts were amazing, including the flourless chocolate cake. Service was extremely good, and beyond friendly.More

My friend and I had both eaten at this restaurant when it was Tim Schafer's a few years ago. It's now moved down a few store fronts to a larger location and it's better than ever. From the moment we walked in, we were treated...like special guests. The Maitre D' and the rest of the staff couldn't have been more engaging, fun and proud of their restaurant. We had the stuffed mushrooms and the special greens and fruit salad. Upon tasting each, we knew we were in for a great dinner. They did not disappoint. We each ordered the swordfish special with spinach risotto and shrimp. It was fantastic! They treated us to a lovely tartufo for dessert. Another plus... it's BYOB. We sat and talked for hours, never feeling rushed to leave. I felt like I was in Europe and I was their guest for the evening. Fantastic restaurant. I can't wait to come back with my husband. You'll love this place. Nice work Chef Freddie!More

Atmosphere was acceptable. Menu seemed pretentious. Service was average. Ordered Jamalaya which was so hot that I could eat only a fraction of the portion. Didn't have enough time to send it back as our group had show tickets. Asked for some rice three times...to mitigate the heat but never got it.More

It's on speedwell Ave opposite the Hyatt hotel. I don't think the train is that close. Probably 20 minute walk.
