Nice restaurant, staff fine, other people seemed to have good food but I felt I had to write a review as our paella was so exceptionally poor. It was totally under seasoned and had no obvious saffron or paprika in it - the rice was...white. The rice was under-cooked and hard but worst of all the prawns and langoustines were very under-cooked - still translucent. It was completely inedible however the staff weren't bothered that we hadn't been able to eat it so we just paid and left.More

My girlfriend and I had come down to the old town for lunch, and decided to venture beyond our normal favourites and it was definitely worth it. Attentive staff and a delicious paella made for the perfect lunch all at a very affordable price.

Two couples in to enjoy dinner. Food was nice but service was strained and we felt very unwelcome. On ordering our food there was an impatience followed by a staggered arrival of food which we had to enquire after given the lengthy wait. Ordering drinks...also seemed to be an issue as we had to ask twice for a simple beer. Our assumption is the staff are pressured by too many people which is serviced by a small kitchen and the result is a bad atmosphere with disgruntled staff. Would not go back.More

This is a lovely bistro. We were seated inside and the food and service was good all evening. 3 of us in the group shared a paella which was very good. My daughter (a bit fussy) had the fish and chips tapas and declared the...chips the best of her holiday. And she eats a lot of chips. Overall really good experience. We decided to book as I knew it was popular and Javea is such a popular destination.More

I appreciate there's a potential conflict between British haste and Spanish 'manana', but, while I buy into the 'food shouldn't be rushed' ethos, when on holiday, service here was very slow. And one of the servers bumped me numerous times, while serving the table behind....No apology, nor attempt to avoid repeat. And I wasn't sitting with my chair well back. But the food was good - when it finally came.More

Sitting outside, in an alley, in an old city has something special. Eating good food in a warming hospitable atmosphere then gets the picture just right. That is what Casa Grau felt for us. Staff very friendly. Food excellent. Presentation very nice and again location...perfect.More

We had dinner at the Casa Grau after looking at the menu when passing by. We did not regret our choice, the food was sublime and it was really one of the best of dinners. Discreet but friendly and helpful service in a nice atmosphere...with an attentive owner. Delicious seafood prepared and presented with care and finesse and an excellent choice of wine. Good value and highly recommended if you are in Javea.More

Wonderful ambience in the old town, friendly staff and amazing food. The burrata and tomato tapas that I had as a starter I could easily eat over and over again. The garlic prawns were lovely too I am told. Two people shared the paella -...again, great feedback. Two had the lamb chops - also good. I had the blackened cod and CPU’s cous - and it would go down as one of the best meals I have eaten. Washed down with wonderful wine. Daughter had apple ‘pie’ dessert and was in food heaven. Good value and very helpful friendly staff… will definitely returnMore

Nice food and service but if you want paella, they run out of dishes so you’re stuck. After that, nothing that outstanding

Had lunch with some friends knowing that Grau was going to be good. Low numbers but it had just reopened so until there is more confidence in the market it may take time to get back to the old days. Food was excellent as was...the service. What we took away with us was the name of the radio station that piped music in the restaurant. (JFK IBIZA ) give it a listen.More

Nice little restaurant in a narrow street in Javea old town. Variety of fish and meat options at reasonable prices. Service was good and sitting outside made for a nice evening.

Nestled in the tiny streets of Xàbia Pueblo this restaurant offers superb value. High quality service and food. Small but varied menu presented and cooked to a high standard. More expensive than tapas but better quality and value than anything at El Arsenal. Wine is...good value too. Jacob always makes us most welcomeMore

Visited on my own, had the slow cooked lamb. It was very tender. The fondant potatoes were tasty. Staff were friendly and didn’t mind when I read at my table. The price seemed reasonable to me, €31 for main course, dessert, 2 glasses of wine...and a bottle of water. I would visit again.More

This restaurant is lovely! In a fab location tucked away down a side street of Javea old town, sat underneath beautiful fairy lights. The food is absolutely delicious. It was the best food I've had in Javea and would definitely return, just to come here...for dinner! Would highly recommend!More

As mentioned above this was our 2nd visit to Casa Grau and it certainly did not disappoint. The food is very, very good and presented beautifully. Delicious home made bread, should have bought a loaf from them :) We (group of 4) had lamb, sea...bass and steak all cooked to perfection. Service is attentive and polite. Super location in Old Town. Absolutely 100% recommendedMore
