On our recent holiday to Peñíscola we ate at Rojo Picota - Vinoteca on three occasions. Each visit the staff were really friendly and helpful. A multi language menu is available if you are struggling to translate the Spanish menu. The bar is modern and stylish and the traditional Spanish food classics are also interpreted and presented in a similar... More

A contemporary interior with soft chairs. Menu is available in English and the waiter spoke English. All the usual shellfish and seafood tapas but some that no one else is doing. A good selection of croquettes where most restaurants offer only one, we chose goats cheese, onion and spinach which were hot and tasty. A plate of potatoes boiled in... More

If you live in the countryside...this appears to you to be something urban. Good choice of background music, friendly service and some chic food. Not to be overestimated.

Our expectations for a weekend away in Peñiscola in February were quite low, but we were blown away by a superb dinner here - very good wines at a reasonable price, buzzy atmosphere with a lot of people, good music and stylish decor, excellent service - and delicious tapas. Highly recommended

We decided to have our lunch here after trying to avoid the tourist typical restaurant. The result was really pleasant.

Calamari, clams, mussels, stuffed squid..... All very good. An interesting selection of wines available to accompany the tapas or meals. Some English menu available for the food.

We had late night tapas here one evening and then came back for menu of the day (Euro 12.50) on our last day. The food is really delicious, all freshly cooked and quite contemporary in style. The duck shanks in port wine sauce melt in the mouth. If you get the chance to try the melon gazpacho, do, as it... More

Sat here one evening and enjoyed the sun going down on the old town across the beach. Good selection of food and a large choice of good quality and reasonably priced wine. Well worth a visit
