If you like average overpriced Barbecue than you will be ok with this place. $8.50 for a sandwich full of fat and no side. I have had much better, at much better prices.

My brother had the pulled pork sandwich. I had the ribs (short order). For a place that is cafeteria style, the price is high. He liked his pulled pork sandwich. I thought the ribs were not very good. The rest room is not particularly clean.

I met family here for dinner Saturday evening and, after several visits to Black Hog BBQ, I feel safe in saying this is some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. Their pulled pork rivals what I’ve eaten in North Carolina, and their brisket is up there with the Texas original. But in neither of two states will you be... More

We were headed to a Keys game and wanted to grab a bite to eat before going into the stadium, we decided to try Black Hog due to the rave reviews. Thankful we did, our food was spectacular. We ordered a combo meal so we could try several things at once, hands down the dry rub ribs were off the... More

I like the bbq pork and brisket. Not the best but good. They make you order off the menu if you want to order a pound of meat forget eating it at the restaurant they will only let you take it out. That sucks because at best the sides are poooooooor....,, I have been to over 200 bbq places in... More

My wife and I were visiting from out of town Memorial Day weekend, and walking through down town Frederick and decided to stop in to eat on a Saturday night. We sat at the bar for about 15-20 minutes and had a cocktail while waiting for a table. Very friendly and social bartender. We asked the waiter for a couple... More

We ate here over Memorial Day weekend and it was a s good as ever. The pulled pork shoulder, Carolina whole hog, and the brisket were excellent. A side of collared greens were outstanding.

I frequent the establishment frequently but be warned if you arrive 30-40 minutes prior to closing time don't be surprised if the rib inventory along with certain sides are not available. Very disappointing as this has happened to me on several occasions. All in all a great place!

I have been to both Black Hog locations - I still prefer the original downtown spot, but the new one is good, too. Even though the last time I visited they had run our t of sausage, I eagerly ate the ham and pulled pork. In previous visits I had the Arkansas BBQ and a hamburger - but by far... More
