I had lunch at Volt a few years ago and it was a staggeringly wonderful meal, so I was excited to take my husband there for our 30th anniversary. It did not disappoint on any level. The service was incredibly attentive without being intrusive, the food divine. If I had to find a quibble- no, it's just too tiny. It... More

Since I couldn't get a reservation for dinner we stopped by the bar for early appetizers and drinks. My husband got the Crazy English Summer cocktail, a gin drink that tasted like limoncello. Luckily we like limoncello. I got B.B.O.F. Rye whiskey, blackberry liquor, Tiki bitter and Oak. It was delicious but I wish they had one bourbon drink on... More

Excellent service! Great concepts. Enjoyed biscuits,!blue crab waffles, beautiful and artful desserts (key like with marshmallow and chocolate). Pasta came out so al dente it was crunchy. Eggs were cold.

What to say..... My family and I have dined here numerous times since it opened and this restaurant is still one of the best destinations in the Mid Atlantic. Whether "all in" at Table 21 or getting away for an afternoon at the bar the service is excellent and the food thoughtful, imaginative and impeccably executed.

Excellent all around experience. Definitely a little fancy for us. My only critique is I wish they had some more affordable wines.

My friend and I went all out and had the 12 course tasting menu. It was creative and delicious - one of our best dining experiences

The food is delicious, but the atmosphere is pretentious, and the wait staff is exceedingly attentive, to the point of being a bit intrusive and unnecessarily so.

We went to Volt for our anniversary and sat at Table 21. It was a wonderful experience from walking in the door. Staff was attentive, but not over bearing. I had commented that I was a little chilly due to being under the vent. They turned the air down in the room we were dining, and found a cardigan for... More

This is one of those places where it's fancy and you get really small portions. Eat something before you come. We got the multiple course meal. The presentation of the food is really good. Clean lines and very nicely presented. The food tastes good as well. The problem is the portions are so small... it's all bite size. Then you... More

Volt is a foodie paradise and exceeded my expectations (for the most part). The inventiveness of the food and the creative combinations of ingredients and presentation were just a pleasure. Yes, it is expensive, so before you decide to come here know that you are going to spend a lot of money on tasting menu (ie small) portions. We did... More

VOLT offers guests a menu of modern American cuisine. The focus of our cuisine is based on classic flavor combinations, creating sophisticated dishes that emphasize purity and seasonal flavors that are based on fundamental and innovative cooking techniques. VOLT's relationship with local artisan farmers ensures availability of products to fulfill the philosophy behind the menu, in a refined, historic venue where classic meets modern. By design, the restaurant follows along the original footprint of the mansions first floor parlors. Both the 38 seat main dining room and the bar/lounge open off the foyer. The original mosaic tile in the foyer was the inspiration behind the warm monochromatic color palette that adorns the finishes in VOLT. Private dining can be hosted in the conservatory offering views of the expansive courtyard. The 700 square foot kitchen afforded space to include up to 20 guests.
