If I could give a 4.5, I would. The service was outstanding and even though the tables were set in rows of two, it was not overly crowded. We opted for the ala carte menu but would go back to try the tasting menu to be seated in the kitchen area to watch "the show". Soft shelled crab and octopus... More

Go with an appetite. The tasting menu is pricey ($125) but it is an experience in a variety of flavors and food. Very attentive staff. I was able to get a signed cookbook from the chef. Truly memorable.

There are a few options when dining at Volt - menu, tasting menu (12 courses), Chef's table (15 courses). The food is like works of art. I have no idea that food can be prepared and presented in this manner. Service - impeccable. Period. Don't know what wine to pair - get with TJ - second order sommelier - spot... More

Cascades of flavors with every bite. The Volt delivered the best cooked food we have had. Its a fixed course meal. Great evening, but be ready for a hole in your wallet.

An Anniversary dinner for four of us where we were well served by numerous well trained servers who were all knowledgable about the food offerings. Our primary waiter gave helpful and accurate information for choosing cocktails and an excellent selection from the fine wine list. We each chose three offerings and a dessert and they were well presented and were... More

We have been very lucky to eat in some amazing places around the world over the years but I think this just topped the list... 12 course tasting menu with wine pairings (including a comparable vegetarian alternative)... Hard to choose a favorite when every course was amazing... But the spring onion macaroons were like an angel farting a cloud of... More

On a recent trip to Volt we discovered a new menu of small plates organized into different "courses" somewhat confusingly. We had to ask a LOT of questions but in the end we loved everything we ordered. Our only overlap was the halibut which was as perfectly cooked a piece of fish as I have ever tasted.

My husband surprised me for my birthday two years ago with a table full of friends at Volt's Table 21 and ever since this is the one place I want to go for my birthday if we are in the area. Having lived in NYC for years, we know good food. This is my FAVORITE restaurant in the U.S. If... More

My husband and I came to VOLT for brunch. We did the four course tasting menu and it was excellent. Top notch sea food, great cocktails and lovely outside seating. The service was also excellent - can't wait to come back!

Description
VOLT offers guests a menu of modern American cuisine. The focus of our cuisine is based on classic flavor combinations, creating sophisticated dishes that emphasize purity and seasonal flavors that are based on fundamental and innovative cooking techniques. VOLT's relationship with local artisan farmers ensures availability of products to fulfill the philosophy behind the menu, in a refined, historic venue where classic meets modern. By design, the restaurant follows along the original footprint of the mansions first floor parlors. Both the 38 seat main dining room and the bar/lounge open off the foyer. The original mosaic tile in the foyer was the inspiration behind the warm monochromatic color palette that adorns the finishes in VOLT. Private dining can be hosted in the conservatory offering views of the expansive courtyard. The 700 square foot kitchen afforded space to include up to 20 guests.
