A friend and I stopped in Frederick while on the road and enjoyed our meal very much. There was a trio playing light jazz music. Our server Patrick was attentive without being intrusive. The portabella mushroom sandwich was succulent and delicious and the kitchen was able to make it without dairy for me. A great experience and I'd go back!

Recommended by a co worker. We went for lunch. Parking was us getting lucky on a busy street. We found parking immediate outside. Seated immediately. Wait staff were nice and attentive. Small glasses of water and I am a drinker. I had the pastrami sandwich with potatoes salad. The sandwich was incredible the potato salad was bland. Get the truffle... More

I've been to Firestone's several times recently to grab drinks at the bar, but it had been a few years since I sat down to a full dinner. 15 years ago this place was really more of a dive serving just bar food. However, they've really moved up to a full-on fine dining experience. All of the ingredients are treated... More

I really want to love this restaurant because of the cool, two story interior and atmosphere. But the locals refer to it as a yuppy bar, and it's pretty true. Went here for drinks with friends and our tab was a bit unreasonable compared to the other bars on the strip. Another time hubby and I shared two plates and... More

We had dinner here and were not disappointed. We were seated at a table on the second floor by the window which looked out over the street. We also were lucky to find on street parking, but there was a parking garage nearby. Our waitress was delightful and honest when asked for recommendations. We started with the crab dip served... Firestone's is pretty good eats and drinks. The employees there are very nice and polite. I haven't had much experience in the food other than the few times I've been there at dinner. It's moderately expensive but for the most part, the food is worth it. The drink prices are typical of downtown, or so I think. Bar service is... More

This is my go-to restaurant for out of town visitors. Service is always top notch-we've sat at the bar during snowstorms; arrived at the peak of Sunday brunch; the dinner hour and for a late afternoon lunch-thus far we haven't been able to fault the hostess desk, the bartenders, the wait and bus staff. All have been charming-even with my... More

Downtown Frederick is really neat and Firestone's restaurant is terrific. We had read (on Trip Advisor) that the eggs benedict were great. But also the pastrami sandwich is a specialty. They have an item on the menu (can't remember what it's called) that combines poached eggs, potatoes, pastrami (probably some other ingredients).....outstanding! Service was fabulous and everyone made you feel... More

Love the restaurant's loft, large windows over looking Market Street. Decor is wood. Nice entree selection which is very good. Space between tables for privacy.

Description
Firestone's Culinary Tavern, opened in 1999, is located in downtown Frederick's picturesque Historic District. It is housed in a 1921 building that was initially the home of Shipley's Department Store. The restaurant combines outstanding cuisine with the casual atmosphere of a neighborhood tavern. The Washington Post says, "the atmosphere is prime...the food is, too!".
