We were staying in the Parador and looking forward to eating there as we had seen some good reviews. Unfortunately although the menu looked attractive the food quality was disappointing

All I can say to describe the Parador in Plasencia is, WOW!!!!!! I have never stayed anywhere as lavish and spectacular. We upgraded our room from a standard to a superior double. The room was nice but really nothing special. However the hotel made up for the room so we weren't bothered. Sign up for the Amigos club online and... More

My husband and I had two dinners at the parador in Plasencia in October, 2016. The first night we shared solomillo de cerdo Iberico (meat from the black pig that tastes like steak not pork) and chuletillas de cabrito (baby goat chops). The solomillo was very tasty but a little overcooked, while the chuletillas were delicious. On the second night... More

We stayed one night on our drive down to Sagres. It is a stunning and magical place to stay. We had two adjoining rooms for the family. The staff were friendly, the breakfast choice was extensive. I can't fault it.

Having a meal in a Parador is always a treat. It is a little pricey, but no more so than any decent restaurant outside. The menu not as extensive as in some restaurants, but the quality, the presentation and the service are always good and the surroundings are unbeatable. The menu shows vegetarian options and also the options that are... More

The food was local and good but, we could have had a warmer welcome and the lights were so bright it did not help.

This Parador restaurant is truly one of the nice ones and reasonably priced in comparison to others we have been to. The food is creative and prepared with thought. They even have menus for people with diabetes and vegetarians. And yes they have menus in English too. Plus we love the wine selection which is amazingly good and inexpensive. However... More

After a couple of years when I'd felt the restaurants in Paradors were losing their edge, here's one to restore your faith. The food and presentation are excellent again - amongst the dishes I ate, the assortment of local cheeses, the bacalao, the hake and the fresh figs in chocolate were memorable. Eating outside in the courtyard whilst the swifts... More
