Good selection of well made cocktails. Nice bar food - south western with twists, I had elk quesadillas. Very busy when we were there but handled excellently by the staff so not a problem.

it would have been nice when we checked in if the front desk had advised us that we would need reservations for dinner. As it was we arrived around 5PM settled into our room and walked over to have a nice dinner with a view. Reservations were unavailable for the evening so the only other choice we had was the... National Park eateries are a hit or miss proposition. the Metate Room is one of the best that I've had the pleasure to dine in. The menu is quite ambitious, but the manage to deliver high quality meals in this remote location. Very good cocktail menu as wll.

We had three dinners and one breakfast there and were very satisfied with all. The food was excellent and the service was prompt and very friendly. Mesa Verde is far from everything, so expecting the Ritz is probably unrealistic. But for good food in a nice atmosphere with pleasant service, it is right on the mark. Definitely make reservations before... More

The food was good, but the service was really slow, but that could have been because we were there right before they closed for the season. Everything for dinner is a bit pricy, but it beats having to drive back down the mountain and out of the park for food.

If you stay up at Mesa Verde you are a captive audience and it seems that the management of this facility are either unaware of its shortcomings or don't really care. We stayed at the hotel for one night (and we're glad it was only one night) and the dinner in the Metate Room was so-so. The food was patchy,... More

I read a lot of reviews on this restaurant before our trip to Mesa Verde. Many reviews rate this restaurant as only average. Everything we had here from salads, appetizers, entrees, and desserts was excellent. I had the best chill relleno here I have ever had in my life. It was thinly crusted with fresh vegetable, and rice, no beans.... More

The only restaurant open in the park so our expectations were low. The bar upstairs also serves light fare but we chose to have dinner in the Metate Room. Service was excellent and the food was above average.

Good views but such a boring menu. A cut above school dinners, but not much. My chicken was over cooked and over priced. The wine was served in a very warm glass. This is not remotely fine dining. It is a captive market as there is nowhere else! We enjoyed the bar area more!

We had dinner in the Metate Room twice and breakfast there once. We chose several small plates for our first dinner - all were first rate. We had filet mignons for the second dinner-also terrific. We had to push our waiter a bit on the side selections to dodge the brussel sprouts, but it worked - we ended up with... More
