Taiwanese with Szechwan influences. 3 cup chicken was delicious. Pork belly was very good and different from others I've had. This was thin slices in a brown sauce with vegetables. Very tasty. House rice noodle was interesting. Angel hair rice noodles were tasty and different. Must be well known because about 8pm the place filled up. Service was lacking. There didn't seem to be sufficient staff. Getting water was impossible. I finally had to go to the counter and ask.

The place is very good, the food has good taste and presentation but very poor, I ordered a special fried rice from the house with chicken and shrimp and I ONLY had TWO SHRIMPS IN THE RICE and I paid it very expensive for what it was !!!

If I could give negative stars I would. I placed an order online. When I showed up to the restaurant there was a long line of disgruntled patrons waiting outside. I should have just walked away at that point. No one‘s order was on time or correct, and many orders had just been out right “lost“. By the time I got to the front of the line I was not hopeful, and indeed they had lost my order. I was told there was nothing they could/would do. I would like to note that this is not a review of the food, as I have never eaten anything from La Mei Zi, and after tonight I never will. There are many fantastic Szechuan restaurants on Buford Highway, this one is not worth your time.

Food is salty and lack of other tastes. Basil chicken was lack of basil. The quality does not match the price. They also charge extra if you pay with credit card.

This place had great food, the Szechuan chicken and fried potstickers were great. However, it was a little hard to find, it was all the way in the back of the shopping center. Overall, great place that I would definitely come back to again.

We have been looking for a Chinese/ Taiwanese restaurant that is fresh and tasty. We found it! The service was excellent, they would not let us order too much! We thought we would need more but she was right. We had the salt/pepper fish, snow pea leaves, shrimp and calamari. Nothing was overcooked. They were very helpful. This will be our new "go-to" place!

We went for dinner on a Monday night. We used GPS and it took us right there. It is on the backside of a busy shopping center, but we had no issues with parking. The restaurant was quiet. We had not problem getting a table. It was very clean and nice inside. The wait staff was quick, and ordering was easy.
We tried three smaller plates for the two of us and that was plenty of food. We got the hot and sour soup for 2, Dan Dan Noodles, and the Taiwanese Salt and Pepper Chicken with basil. I would recommend all three.
The soup was very good. And if you were with a group of four and just wanted a small taste of soup four people could enjoy the amount served. You get a pile of salt and pepper chicken. We both enjoyed this. The Dan Dan noodles were good. They had numbing spice in them but we both agreed it was the amount we liked. Enough to get a taste of it but not over powering. Some may find it not enough but it worked for us.
Outside of taste alone we felt the ingredients were good as well. Everything tasted great and seemed fresh.
We noticed some had brought in wine. I’m fairly sure this location is BYOB but you may want to check ahead of time.

We ate family style and left the selection of the dishes to the discretion of the hostess. She gave an amazing variety of dishes that satisfied everyone, vegetarians included.
Highly recommend for amazing Chinese cuisine.

My first visit to a Taiwanese restaurant has convinced me that I don't really like Taiwanese dishes. Others in our party might disagree, but nobody was real happy about our experience. Part of the problem is that we ordered off the menu, when probably 80% of their patrons went to the buffet. I checked out the buffet and didn't like what I saw, but there were a lot of choices. I settled for a scallion pancake (just fair -- Indian versions are much better) and hot and sour soup (the soup was very good). Other dishes like their pork noodle soup were bland and/or very greasy. That may be typical but I wasn't impressed. Service was OK, except for my soup, which never arrived until I had to make a special trip to search out our server and remind her. Finally, prices are not cheap.

I have been coming here about once per week for awhile now... The service is always great, and their food is unique and bursting with flavor. They have some great lunch specials, and the portion sizes are huge.

Our party of 4 arrived at 7pm on a busy Sat. and were seated promptly, although there was a long line shortly afterward. Our companion couple had raved about the food, so we joined them on their return visit in what turned out to be a most enjoyable experience. We brought our own wines, which saved on the bill ( no corkage fee !!) . The service was promt, and quite friendly. We shared 4 entrees, and we also tried the hot and sour soup for 2. Best I've had in Atl. I can recommend ALL of our entrees. Salt and pepper calamari, Ginger and scallion fish fillet, House Noodle dish, and the 3 Cup Chicken. Plenty of white rice to share.
Our bill total with tip was $80.00
A very fun dinner choice if you are in the BUHI area.

Consistently good Taiwanese food. I recommend the clam and ginger soup and the salt & pepper shrimp or calamari. No alcohol so bring your own.
