It's been over a year since I reviewed this place and I'm happy to say that my opinion remains the same. It is a place of good food for a good price. Their Kung Pai Shrimp and their Sweet and Sour Pork remain up among...my list of favorites.More

We stayed in Alpharetta for a concert and googled China Town, and it took us here. Lot of the stores are closed. There is a nice book store that is pricey though. They have story time in English and Chinese which is cool. The inside...had a nice little outdoor Chinese decor. We went to eat. Hubs went to the BBQ place which was good. Said it was expensive for what he got - rice, pork, bok choy. I went to China Market to get dim sum. They were out of the shu mai (spelling??) dumplings. So got steamed bao which isn't filled with the red pork. Was good but prefer the red filling. Onion pancake was awesome. And other steamed dumplings were good. On the way out we spotted numerous mouse traps which was off putting for sure.More

Definitely stop here and grab lunch or dinner. It's not romantic or trendy, but the food carries it. If you like real Chinese food, go here!

China Kitchen, in Chinaton Mall, is one of our favorite places to eat when we are in the Chamblee/Doraville area of Atlanta. We love their stir fried green beans, eggplant with garlic sauce and shredded pork with plum sauce. The portions are very generous. Granted...they would not please a great many calorie conscious Americans as they use a lot of oil, but that adds to the flavor. The mall, area, however, is quite run down and the floors , leading to the food court, use a good scrubbing. The food court, itself, is fairly clean but there is no ambience. However, just to give an idea of how much we like the food we went there, on 5th March, when we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Not many folks would choose such a location for such a celebration. Try it.More

Located in Atlanta's Chinatown Mall they serve large portions of Chinese food. It's not gourmet but it is authentic and very reasonably priced. You pick it up at the counter and there are pleanty of tables and chairs to enjoy it. A great lunch.

I came across China Kitchen in an article I was reading about the Atlanta Chinatown Mall. Being a lover of all varieties of Asian food, I decided to hit them up with my husband. Located in the food court among a plethora or other Asian...restaurants, nothing stood out about China Kitchen except for its name. I love, love , love string beans and one of the first dishes I saw about China Kitchen was the Sichuan String Beans. This was a must have. Upon arriving, the young lady who greeted me (hubby on the phone) was very helpful in explaining their dishes to me. I wanted to try the sliced fish in hot chili oil but hubby does not like to eat fish at a restaurant. I opted for the Cumin Dusted Lamb. For the two dishes, our total came to $18. Once you order, you self serve for your rice and soup down at the end on the counter. They had to choices of soup - egg drop and I think, hot and sour. We did not like the soup. It tasted like flavored oil. If my husband cannot eat it, then it's really bad because he does not believe in wasting food. Our two main dishes arrived and they looked very pleasing to the eyes. Upon tasting, the flavors were there and just enough seasoning. My only qualm was the lamb pieces were to fatty and we could not really enjoy the meat. The string beans were flashed fried and sautéed with garlic. What can I say, De-lish!!!! I don't know if I will go back, but it was a pleasant experience overall.More
