We go to Atlanta once or twice a year. We visit the Varsity every time. It's a family favorite. Best onion rings ever. Hubby and son get chili dogs and FOs. Daughter and I get double cheeseburgers. Yum!

I always love going back to The Variety which, brings back memories of my childhood. This place hasn't changed a bit and the food isnt the best but the atmosphere is awesome. This place is a must in the ATL.

As many have said, the Varsity is an iconic spot in downtown Atlanta so we thought we'd try it. I guess if you had been there in "the good old days" it provides a nostalgic trip back to simpler times. If you were not, it just provides mediocre fast food.

Eat a chili dog, an orange freeze and a fried pie. Order from your car and get old fashioned drive in service..or come inside and watch TV in one of the TV rooms. Hike across the bridge from GA Tech...or back to see a game. The Varsity is Atlanta culture. The onion rings are to die for. Everything will make... More

My husband is a Georgia Tech grad, so he HAD to take me to The Varsity. It was a fun experience. Service is very efficient.. The Orange Freeze was the highlight for me.

I had numerous people tell me to try this place, and the place was busy as can be, but I'm not sure why. The food wasn't terrible, but I didn't find anything special that made it stand out from any hot dog & burger joint. If you're only there for a day or two, you won't miss anything if you... More

The Varsity is the venerable and seasoned home of the most well known and beloved fast food menu in Atlanta. The LaVista Road branch closed a couple of years ago, but the Gwinnett and Athens stores remain secondary locations for sampling the burgers, fries, and frosted oranges which are craved by all generations, races, religions, and every other interest group... Great place for quick lunch before Georgia Tech football game or other outing in downtown Atlanta. Love the history (was largest drive in when my parents were in college). Go for the experience--the food is, well, drive-in food. Eat it while it's hot. I like the toasted tuna salad or pimento cheese sandwich. Kids love the frosty orange.

What can you say about the Varsity that hasn't already been said? Perhaps, "Take your antacid before you go?, because you will want to sample it all. Just remember, too much of a good thing can be overwhelming. The offerings are your classic American Drive in fare. Chili Dogs, Onion rings, Fries, Shakes and more. The atmosphere is lively and...
