This was my favorite restaurant that I have discovered in Atlanta. I loved the atmosphere, staff, and the food. We went on a Sunday and it wasn't that crowded. We enjoyed everything; salmon, fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, greens, potatoes, and cornbread. Everything was absolutely perfect.

What a delightful dinner! I was alone on a business trip and choose to say at the bar. Food was fantastic, especially the fried green tomatoes and fried chicken. Service was great and I was very comfortable to be there by myself.

Our waiter, Brian, was curt and unfriendly. The food was average rather than spectacular as expected, and expensive. A bean salad billed as serving 3-4 people was rather small and cost 20$. The restaurant Lure, just a few doors down, has incredibly tasty southern food and great service, as well as a better ambiance. Go there!

Very well recommended, sorry just don't give out 5 stars unless it's exception. Don't get me wrong ;food was great just not exception. Service was great just not exceptional. The layout was architecturally interesting but during busy lunch or if this was a date night then almost impossible to have a conversation with someone else if they were more than... More

Dinner qith friends on the patio. Tried the BBQ'd shrimp, shrimp and grits, rabbit ravioli, and steak. All were good, but I think NOLA is still the king of seasoning on Shrimp and Grits and BBQ shrimp. I just like the little bit extra in the spice down there. The ravioli was a large portion and the rabbit filling was... More

Went to dinner here on the last night of our visit. The fried green tomatoes appetizer was delicious. The flounder was wonderful, as was the steak. The pork chop was also good, but spicy. The cheesecake was fantastic. The restaurant gets loud; we sat upstairs which was slightly quieter, but it was still a bit noisy. We enjoyed it, though,... More

Trendy restaurant, but the food is good. One of the only criticisms is that there is no parking so unless you live in midtown it's difficult to get to.

This restaurant has a really cool vibe and set up. We sat at the bar while we were waiting for our table but ended up eating at the bar because it was so fun and the service was so good. The manager John waited on us as they were short a bartender although the one who was there did such... More

I'll keep the into short and sweet: 1) Food: 3.5-4 stars 2) Service: about 4 stars 3) Ambiance: 2 stars Food: The food is good. Do not get me wrong. There was no dish that I had which blew me away. Surprisingly, the collared greens side was the best thing I had. Fried chicken was good, BBQ hoecake was good.... More

Description
Celebrating over 18 year as one of Atlanta's favorite restaurants, South City Kitchen Midtown specializes in contemporary Southern cuisine with a sophisticated twist. Combining the energy of Atlanta with the warmth of a Southern home, the restaurant is nestled in an updated, historic bungalow on the city's famous Crescent Avenue. Dine on local Southern favorites such as shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes and banana pudding while enjoying the view of our exhibition kitchen or the city skyline on one of the best patios in the city. This truly is dining the way the new South intended.
